Mission: CULTIVATING lives, BUILDING purpose, and SHARING the love of God through Wilderness Adventures & Outdoor Experiences for urban & at-risk youth.
Target demographics: inner-city youth
Geographic areas served: Lynchburg, VA
Programs: outdoor adventures trips provide urban youth with the opportunity to get out of their normal environment and into the great outdoors. Youth are challenged through new experiences like rock climbing, rappelling, river rafting, backpacking and camping. UMA has identified a core group of youth who participate in our adventure trips and are also discipled on a weekly basis through Bible studies led by UMA leaders. This relationship building approach has proved to be a very effective method to make the greatest impact possible among our youth and their families.
