Nonprofit Overview
Causes: Human Service Organizations, Human Services
Mission: To facilitate the atheist/secular community in doing good works, as well as raise funds to help other organizations in their missions. Our activism and actions are informed by secular principles of humanism and social justice. We want to make our corner of the world a better place and we will accomplish that through actions, not platitudes. We provide community and support for the atheist/secular community in southern Arizona, and our medium to long-range goal is to do more direct giving and provide services ourselves.
Results: July 2018- Work began on getting our 501c3 status! August- Approved for 501c3 status (though the letter was lost in the mail and we weren't actually notified until December! October 11th 2018- Approved by the Corporation Commission! October 2018- 3rd Atheist Comedy Night benefitting Emerge! Watch the FB Live video here. We raised almost $600! December 2018- 3rd year sponsoring DES Adopt A Family, 4 large families. Provided stockings, decorations and gives for 25 people. March 2019- Captain Marvel Screening benefitting Emerge. We raised $920. Spring 2019- Clothing drive for BBBS. We donated 650 lbs of clothing. May 2019- Pet food drive for Southern Arizona Animal Food Bank. June 2019- 3rd Annual PRIDE Bowl for SAGA. We raised $228. July 2019- Atheist Comedy Night for Abortion Fund of AZ. We raised over $1000!! October 2019- Tucson Meet Yourself Booth. October 2019- FUNDrive, clothing, books, etc donated through SAVERS. December 2019- Holiday Fundraiser for Tucson Second Chance Community Bail Fund- We raised $175. February 2020- Emergency Pet Food Drive for Southern Arizona Animal Food Bank- We raised over $350 in addition to the truckload of pet food, treats, leashes, etc for the animals. November 2020- We published our TACO Team Cookbook with recipes contributed tested & photographed by our members! July 2021- Pet Food Drive for SAAFB. August 2021- 3rd Anniversary fundraiser. November 2021- Comedy Night for the Abortion Fund of AZ raised and donated $738.92. December 2021- Contributed $500 direct giving to member Natalie Woods to help with legal costs. December 2021- Holiday Fundraiser & Direct giving. Raised $2176 to provide $100 gift cards, assorted gifts & homemade sweets for 16 families in Tucson!
