As a volunteer and a client served through this program, I can say that Together We Care is the missing piece in the disability community in GA. Their selfless dedication to assisting families in spiritual, financial, physical, and mental wellness is a service not found elsewhere. The individual attention, the access to resources, the over all structure and organization is changing lives of caregivers and disabled people in GA. I am proud to partner with Together We Care in serving the community and blessed to receive services from them for my own family as well. Excellent organization and phenomenal service!

I first started working with Together We Care (or rather, they began working with me) after connecting on Facebook. I would see Jillian answering parents' questions about resources, events, and connections and knew she was making a difference in the special needs community. After just our first phone call, I knew I had not only made another connection, but a friend. She made me feel like I could really open up about what I was looking for and truly helped build my confidence in advocacy for my son William, who is a young boy with autism. Together We Care has helped me with IEPs, community outreach, private grants, you name it! There is never a project Jillian is not interested in, and if she doesn't feel she can get you the answer ASAP, she finds the person that can! Every special needs parent should have Together We Care on their side, and every month I look forward to our phone call to share information. It is TOGETHER that we can make a difference!

I am the leader of the special needs ministry at Johnson Ferry Baptist and I am also the parent of a special needs son. I got to know Jillian through ministry first. She is so resourceful and has great ideas. Trying to do a ministry in the middle of a pandemic has been very challenging but Jillian has provided great ideas and challenged me on a different ways to do ministry. She looked at all the sides of ministry from the parents, volunteers, and leadership. She then strategically and thoughtfully made suggestions for ministry. She also has been an incredible source of help and support for me as a parent. She gave me summer resources to use for Isaac's care while I worked full time. She is so knowledgeable about the special needs world. She is dependable and trustworthy and she really cares about families and ministries who have special needs. Together We Care is a great resource that I encourage other churches and families to use when they are in need of support.

The world of special needs is overwhelming. As a parent of a special needs child I have been fighting for 14 years to get my son the right everything- the right help, the right school, the right therapy.
Now my son is in 8th grade and High School looms before us. And after high school...I didn't even know where to begin. My stress was turning into despair.
On the recommendation of a friend, I spoke with Jillian Palmiotto of Together We Care. She began by discussing my son's needs and what we wanted for him in the future. Step-by-step, I began to see there is hope. We ended the conversation with a to-do list for her and a to-do list for me, which she emailed to me in great detail a couple days later. I have a lot to do to help my son: applying for family support funds, getting a new evaluation, researching potential schools, setting up a checking account for my son, potentially enrolling him in some programs...the list goes on. But each item I cross off my check-list is one step closer to helping my son be successful and hopefully independent someday.
If you are the parent of a special-needs child- I know. I know how lonely and discouraging it can be. We're always fighting for our child and the fight can be overwhelming. But having someone guide you who knows the system, who knows what resources are out there, and who loves special-needs kids is invaluable. This organization, and Jillian in particular, can help you.
