Mission: Thoroughbred Retirement of Tampa, Inc, a 501(c)(3), is an aftercare program for Tampa's racing Thoroughbreds. Our mission is to safely retire from racing, rehabilitate, retrain and re-home these equine athletes from Tampa Bay Downs.

They are so motivated at TROT, than one of their members drove 3 hr.s round trip to bring me a Holiday wreath that they were offering to raise funds for the horses. Not only did I appreciate this gesture to help me, but the dedication to raise funds for these wonderful horses.

I volunteer for this organization and see first hand the care these horses receive. They are in such great care and this organization really takes care to find the right home for each individual horse and keeps track of them in their new home too :-)

I have been a volunteer since April 2010 and a volunteer board member since August 2010. This organization does a lot of good with limited financial resources. They have made a big difference in the lives of the 56 horses that entered the program to date. It gives one a great feeling of accomplishment when one of the horses is adopted.
