Causes: Environment, Water, Water Resources, Wetlands Conservation & Management
Mission: To promote the cultural, educational, and recreational interested of the residents of lake basile, which is located in the towns of granby, east granby, simsbury, connecticut; to provide an authorized group for the consideration of neighborhood problems of common interest; to improve neighborhood conditions; to foster and maintain the natural beauty and recreational facilities of lake basile, including but not limited to the maintenance of dams, roads, docks, beaches, fishing conditions and other facilities appurtenant to lake basile; to create friendly and social community relations; to provide for fire protection; to develop athletic and recreational areas; to promote interest in town affairs and cooperation with other community activities; and in furtherance and not in limitation of the above purposes to do any and all things not in contravention of the laws of the state of connecticut.
Programs: The main accomplishment in 2013 was to raise the funds necessary to treat lake basile for excessive aquatic plant blooms in the summer of 2013. We paid a contractor to apply an approved aquatic herbicide under permit with the ct deep and the treatment was successful.
