Hello,
My daughter attends Wings on Words. I would like to share our journey and how WOW has been such an amazing experience as well as has made a big impact in our lives. I had my daughter at 6 months of pregnancy, so being 3 months early she had to be in the NICU and as she developed, we were told she would fall behind as far as her developments and reaching milestones. As a mother that is difficult to hear. She attended therapy sessions right after her hospital stay and once she started talking she began speech therapy. Seeing her struggle and not connecting with her therapist was extremely frustrating because her dad and I could understand her struggle as we weren’t connecting with the therapist either. Long story short my daughter was 2.5 and was able to attend WOW. The beginning was scary. She was the tiniest and would mumble when trying to speak. We saw so much improvement in her in just 2 months and were able to share that with her DOVE teachers at that time Amy, Amber, and Cielo. Now she loves being at school with her friends and can tell us all about her day. As a parent knowing she feels safe and has formed a connection with her teachers is special. Ms. Naomi and Ms. Sheri have been absolutely incredible this year with the line of communication as well as allowing us parents to be able to interact through activities with our littles and do projects that they than present to their class.
My 2 year old started preschool this August here at WOW (Wings On Words) I was so nervous to have her start preschool but I felt like it was best for her and myself, and let me just tell you it was definitely the best decision I made. I love the teachers in her class Mrs. Amy especially made me feel so comfortable with leaving my daughter there for part time which is half day. She could tell how nervous I was and I just love how comfortable she made me feel. Mrs. Amber and Celio are also great I love that there is more then one teacher for the students. And I’ve been teaching my daughter Spanish and Mrs. Celio also talks to her in Spanish which I absolutely love. Also it’s they have speech therapy and scholarship for tuition. Which is wonderful. If I could I would rate this school a 100/100. Love that it also sponsored by the University of Arizona.
Wings on Words is truly an amazing school! The level of care the teachers have for their students really shines through in development. When my daughter started kindergarten, she was clearly further developed. Not only academically, but emotionally as well. The teachers build a solid foundation for a lifetime of learning.
My son started less than a year ago. At age 3 he said 10 words. Now he says 4 word phrases I am amazed at this improvement. He wakes up excited to go to school every morning. Everyone is wonderful teachers keep us informed of his progress and make us feel welcomed when we visit.
We have had nothing short from an amazing experience having our daughter at Wings on Words. The staff is all very caring even when my daughter has only been with two nurses yet every single staff member knows her by her first name and show so much love to her. She always looks forward to seeing everyone.
We are so fortunate to have found Wings on Words! It has been nothing short of a spectacular preschool experience both of my children over the last 3 years.
Wings On Words (WOW) child language center is an amazing place where kids thrive and love to be in.
My daughter went to WOW for almost 2 years and my son’s been there for a little over an year now. They both have grown so much not only academically but also in social-emotional skills, gross motor skills and their independence. Teachers at WOW are so passionate and loving and my kids love to go to school everyday. They love the school routine where they get to play outside, read books, make arts and crafts, and sing and dance.
Teachers at WOW create such a warm and welcoming environment, we never second guess leaving our kids behind for the most part of the day.
We love WOW child language center and recommend to anyone.
We are very happy for all the support from all teachers at Wings on Words. Our kid enjoys his time at school learning and having fun! We definitely recommend this school!
Wings on Words made such a difference for our daughter! I could see how sometimes communication could frustrate her, WOW helped give her support to practice the sounds she needed and to work with her and they made it fun and interesting. I will always be grateful we chose to send our daughter to WOW!

Wings On Words was an amazing place for our daughter! We loved our initial visit with time for us to ask questions, see the campus, and participate in the classrooms! We felt good that this was a safe space and it was a space Sofie looked forward to being in again and again. We really enjoyed all chances we had to volunteer and see the campus and be with the children and staff. Even in first grade now, she says she wants to go back to preschool! Walking in, you can see the heart and attention that teachers put into their planning to have a space ready for all kinds of learning and all learners. Wings on Words impressed me as a parent, and as a professional working in schools and the field of special education. Wings on Words was recommended to me by a dear friend whose son attended many years ago, and I have run into other parents now who similarly sent their children to Wings on Words and get excited to talk about how great the preschool is. I would have loved Wings on Words myself as a preschooler!
My Daughter is a student she is 4 and LOVES it so so so much. She was in day care before that she liked, had friends at and was comfortable with but once she started here there was no going back. She loves her teachers and has nothing but nice things to say about them, she has made friends really quickly and she has LEARNED SO MUCH, it's crazy... Her language has improved and her vocabulary.....she is saying words I had no idea she knew. She is understanding concepts better and her number sense is finally improving she can nearly count to 20 now.
My daughter attended the Child Language Center for pre-school. Our daughter was identified with a speech issue. We were recommended to the center for support. Our experience from day one was exceptional. From the classroom teachers to the speech therapists, we were treated so kindly and kept informed daily on our daughter’s progress. Our daughter loved her experience and she went into kindergarten a strong and confident student. We have the Child Language Center to thank for that. Within a few months in her kindergarten classroom, she was excused from her speech services. Her work at the Language Center paid off and she was right on track with her peers. Being a public school teacher myself, I wish there were more programs like this to help students and families. We loved our time with the program and will always be grateful for the motivation, speech support, and love of learning the staff, therapist, and teachers modeled every day.
I brought my child here after he was diagnosed with a speech fluency issue. The team was wonderful and helped not only my child but gave me the resources to help me outside of the center. He was there for 2 years and once he was in public school he used his tools that he learned. He now is in 4th grade and the top of his class in reading. I completely attribute this to early intervention and the Center in providing him the tools to excel.
We have been at Wings on Words Preschool for approximately 3 months now, and I can't express how happy we are there. Our son has seen a significant improvement in his speech (more so than all other speech therapy resources we have used). The teachers are phenomenal and care about each individual child as if they were their own. I wish we would have found WOW sooner!
Before I found Wings on Words, I was completely overwhelmed and stressed. My son was going to be 3 and although he had months of speech therapy sessions, he was almost totally non-verbal.
WOW welcomed us and within months he started using words, feeling more confident in his communication efforts and even phrases. The school's curriculum is wonderful. Whether the class is on a "Fossil hunt," baking play cookies at a gingerbread house, or learning about community helpers and emotions, I always know that my son is in the best care.
My daughter was 3 years already but she wasn't speaking a word. I was very concerned but when I took her to wings on words she started saying some words like thank you, bubbles and others. The environment is really good, clean and organized. The teachers are kind and responsible. They make a good program for the kids and are strict with the rules which is amazing for the kids for example cleaning their hands, nap time and play time.
I am really grateful to them for taking care of my daughter.
My son started receiving speech therapy services at WOW the beginning of 2021 and his verbal and cognitive skills have flourished since. All staff are so educated, knowledgeable, patient and so very sweet to my son and all the children. It was a blessing that we found WOW and they helped and continue to help my son find his voice. Our family is forever grateful for WOW.
Wings on words has helped my 2 year old son tremendously. Everyone from the staff to the teachers are extremely professional and always have a nice welcoming tone every day no matter what. They have the kids constantly learning while blending it with some fun! They are supportive of all families, backgrounds & walks of life. I feel comfortable and confident and proud to say that my son attends this school.
The Child Language Center really feels like a second home to us. The teachers clearly care about my son and his language skills have increased substantially since he started. I would recommend this school to every parent interested in giving their child the best opportunity in learning. Thank you so much for all you do!
The Child Language Center's Wings on Words (WOW) program is a fantastic preschool. My son has blossomed greatly since being at WOW. He started with very little words and, within weeks, he was singing nursery rhymes. The teachers are incredibly kind and patient. It is clear they love their job and the children in their care. I would not leave my son with anyone else!
While the school's and center's mission is to help children with speech and language concerns, this school is not limited to only children with S&L delays or disorders. Children who have age appropriate speech and language can benefit greatly from this school. Children without S&L delays continue to grow their language and speech skills in a speech and language focused school while learning to be compassionate human beings towards those who may need a bit more help. It is beneficial for children with S&L delays to be around other children who have age appropriate speech and language development.
This place is like no other. Highly recommend to every parent.
My son went to Wings On Words and it is a fantastic school - Thank you for all that you do for the kids!
Everyone is great, they really love the children and their jobs. I have noticed such a difference in my son in such a short time. I’m so happy I found them, truly a blessing.
Absolutely wonderful center -- the only place we felt safe sending our child in fall 2020 given the pandemic. Small groups, outdoor classrooms, and extremely transparent, open, and communicative teachers and administrators.
WOW was a savior for us when my son was diagnosed with major speech delay at 2 years old. He recently graduated from college and we attribute so much of his accomplishments to early speech intervention! Thank you Wings and Words/The Child Language Center for all you do to help so many children.

Wings on Words is a fantastic facility with the utmost thought and care in early childhood education. The program and classrooms are set up to give every child a successful learning environment. They touch all bases when it comes to academics, play, movement, and of course speech & language. My son has more confidence in his environment and in himself both in & out of school. I also cannot say enough wonderful things about all the teachers at this school. Thank you! As a parent I could not ask for more.
Our daughter loves school and it’s thanks to her lovely teachers and friends. It’s a wonderful program that we are happy to be a part of.
The main reason why I'am giving this preschool a 5/5 stars is because of its TEACHERS! The teachers here really enjoy what they do and it shows. You can feel the LOVE! Our child stared here when she was 2 years old. She is now 4 and in the Hummingbirds class.
Teachers: A+ Teachers!!! Two teachers in the class at all times, one is the main teacher they have more experience. The teachers are trained in early childhood literacy which is a main focus on top of speech therapy if needed. The preschool also has onsite specialist to help children in the early years receive what they need to improve delays in speech. During a certain time of year the U of A students teachers are present and help in the classrooms, too. We have enjoyed all ours teachers here. Students get the attention they need.
Classroom: Small class size. It has been under 15 students per class with 2 teachers. Always set up so perfectly for each theme and very clean. They share the curriculum with parents and its very extensive and full of information on what students are learning.
Playground: The outside playground has lots of shade, toy bikes and running area. They have a garden, too.
This preschool is one of the BEST in Tucson!!! If I had extra money I would donate here to help this nonprofit school continue helping our children start well in school :)
My son went to pre-school at Wings on Words for a year and a half. If they had kindergarten, I would have kept him there even longer. It is such a fantastic program. The facility itself is wonderful. The classrooms are warm and inviting. They have a fun outside play area. They have a mobile library that goes class to class. They also have tortoises, and sometimes chickens, on campus. The teachers are experienced, dedicated, and caring. My son can be difficult because of a developmental delay. His teachers were so patient with him. They tried different strategies until they found what worked. Ms. Candy in particular went above and beyond, finding and modifying a grade school program to work for pre-schoolers. The teachers were great about communicating with parents. Wings on Words also has a fantastic speech therapy staff. My son had a terrible stutter when he started there and it was almost gone when he left. The one on one speech therapy combined with a strong language-based curriculum did wonders for him. My son learned everything he needed to know to be ready for kindergarten and then some. He also loved going there.
My only frustration with Wings on Words is that the schedule can be difficult for working parents. It's worth it to make it work if you can though. It's such a wonderful place.
This school has been wonderful for my two children! I truly appreciate the kindness and compassion they have for each child. My daughters know they are in a safe, loving space and they are learning while having fun!
Amazing staff and teachers. I highly recommend this school for children that need the focus on speech and language development.
My kids loved the opportunity to get in to wings on words. I am a single mom. I would never have been able to put my children in wings on words but they received scholarship and went for free. They absolutely love the atmosphere here and still talk about what they learned to this day. They can't wait to go back this summer so I hope to take them. My son received speech therapy which was a definite plus. My daughter loved learning about science and it sparked her interest about how things work together. The kids were ecstatic about the lesson plans each day. Also all the staff along with the students are fantastic. Thank you so much for this opportunity amd hope to see you all soon.
Wings on Words is a wonderful place. They offer a summer camp with speech therapy. My child loved this camp! She wanted to go everyday, then would cry when it was time to go. (not so fun for me) The speech sessions really helped. Several people including her gymnastic teacher, commented on how they could understand her a little better. They sent a lesson plan home for each week on what they would be covering. I was very impressed with how thought out and interactive it was. I'm looking forward to signing her up for next years summer camp.
Lea, and mrs. Marina has been a blessing to my son, and his apraxia. (Speech delay) he has grown so much, and I KNOW without them he would not be where he is! Truly grateful.
This preschool has been such a good place for my son with expressive speech delay...so good we even kept him an extra year to be sure he's really ready for kindergarten!
I would like to thank you, Mrs. Amy, Mrs. Naomi, and Ms. Candy for being so kind and patient with Arturo throughout his years at WOW. He has really excelled academically and in his speech. We couldn't have wished for any better experience for Arturo. The one-to-one attention that Arturo receive from your teachers has made him confident in his abilities in many different subjects. Everyday he would arrive home with tales about what was in the mystery box. Wings on Words is a supportive community focused on giving each student the best education possible, and your school provided Arturo just that. Thanks again for everything.
P.S. Mrs. Marina was also a very positive role model for Arturo.
The Canez Family
The quality and care of the individuals that work at Wings on Words has exceeded my expectations. Not only has the staff at WOW helped provide the best quality education for my daughters they have become part of our extended family and my family will be forever grateful for the individuals and our time at WOW.
Being that this school is one of a kind, there are so many different great things to say about it. We chose this school simply based on the fact that it focused on speech therapy, but now having attended this school, we would choose it again in a heartbeat for everything it has to offer. Our little one attends the "Doves" Classroom (2-3 yr olds) and is so in love with Ms. Amy and Ms. Adrianna. The teachers, assistants, and volunteers clearly put the children first in every way possible, from dropping the children off for the first time to helping them blow their noses or even engaging in an observation in the sky. There are so many special little moments that I catch while I'm leaving the classroom as well. The children start off in the outdoor playground and while I"m waiting for the traffic light to change, I always see Ms. Amy or Ms. Adrianna hugging a little one who needs it or just wants a hug, or giving the children encouragement with their playing, or even singing to the kids as they play. As a first time parent I really appreciate the extra mile these teachers will go just to make sure the kids feel comfortable and truly feel like they have a place among their peers. With the speech therapy aspect of the school, it's such an amazing program that I wish more preschools had. Addressing a speech issue can seem daunting but involving a whole classroom and allowing the children to learn and grow inside their comfort zones is just irreplaceable. Our little just loves his time at preschool and we couldn't be happier with everything!
All three of my daughters attended Wings on Words. Two needed language therapy services, but I sent all three to their program because its pedagogy for early childhood education is second to none. All three of my girls were totally ready for Kindergarten, thanks to the literacy based curriculum. Not all preschools are created equal, so I feel fortunate I was able to send my kids to the best preschool program in Tucson.
I have been a teacher at this school for 18 years and love what we do for children. Children leave our program to enter kindergarten with all the learning and behavior strategies to be successful not only in kindergarten but also throughout their elementary school years.
Wings on Words is the best place to send your child if they are experiencing speech delay. At 3 years old my son did not speak many words, after 5 months of attending Wings on Words we are now able to communicate with him and understand him. This would not have been possible without the great staff. Thank you WOW!
My son is two years old and has a delayed speech issue. Since going to Wings on Words he has improved greatly. He seems to have an interest in trying to enunciate and communicate with words. He recieves speech therapy in a fun and happy environment. He loves his teachers and looks forward to going to school. I like that the children have a structured lesson plan each week. The teachers provide a daily report on my child providing information on goals and what the children did in class that day.
My older son attended Wings on Words' preschool for 3 years prior to attending elementary school. He went into Kinder reading and able to do basic math facts. He is currently a 4th grader reading at a end of 5th year grade level and recently perfected the AZ Merit (AZ state test). His elementary teachers have continued building on the amazing foundation that was created by Wings on Words' teaching staff. This year we just enrolled our youngest son in his 2nd year of preschool at Wings on Words in hopes that he will have similar academic success, as our eldest son continues to have.
