Causes: Adult Education, Education
Mission: The Adult Learning Center provides motivated adults with basic education, life-long learning opportunities and resources to transform their lives and contribute to their communities, in the spirit of the teachings of Jesus Christ and the principles of social justice.
Geographic areas served: Metro Milwaukee
Programs: In accordance with our mission statement of providing motivated adults with basic education, life-long learning opportunities, 110 total students for 2016-2017 year. 10 in basic education class, 70 in the pre-ged class, and 30 in the ged class. Throughout the school year, 70 people participated in computer classes that covered a range of topics, including the basics of computer parts and terminology, registeing for and using an e-mail address, internet usage, typing skills and spreadsheets. Computer skills for taking the new ged were also taught. The staffed computer lab was open for use by both basic education and computer skills students during the afternoon and early evening hours.
