Mission: Teamchild upholds the rights of youth involved, or at risk of involvement, in the juvenile justice system to help them secure the education, healthcare, housing and other support they need to achieve positive outcomes in their lives.
Programs: Teamchild is a civil legal services program providing advocacy for children at high risk of juvenile justice involvement. Teamchild serves low income youth in five counties of washington state (yakima, spokane,pierce, snohomish and king). The program receives approximately 1,000 referrals each year and engages in community outreach and training activities that create or reinforce partnerships with families,juvenile justice professionals, attorneys and community providers. Independent evaluations have shown that teamchild has a positive impact on young people's access to education,health care, and housing while reducing their contact with the juvenile justice system.
