Causes: Environment, Pollution Abatement & Control
Mission: Lessen the burdens of government by partnering with local government bodies and other community stakeholders to promote revitalization and reuse of impaired properties and to develop and implement sustainable environmental initiatives in target communities; to foster public awareness and participation in these sustainable environments, and to encourage public/private partnerships for the implementation of these initiatives where privately-funded action is unlikely to occur due to market challenges; and to provide technical assistance to local governments/community stakeholders to facilitate the remediation and reuse of environmentally impaired properties located across the country.
Programs: Developed community fueling infrastructure derived from alternative energy sources at a major brownfield site within the community.
assisted a louisiana based general contractor in an effort to help rebuild from the severe weather devastation in baton rouge. Synapse sustainability trust provided the infrastructure to help acquire funds through donations to provide clean drinking water and other essential supplies to impacted individuals.
synapse sustainability trust is developing new environmental educational programs, as well as educational and recreational opportunities specifically for veterans and their families.
initiated the development of a wetland mitigation bank program by supporting the preparation of a grant for the central new york regional planning and development board. The audubon was included in the planning and grant as it related to incorporating critical flyways in developing wetlands.
