Mission: Sustainable nevada helps schools design, develop and implement ecoliteracy programs resulting in students prepared to create sustainable communities that protect and preserve the environment.
Programs: Ecostudents - we provide program design, development and implementation services to schools for 1. Leed certification, 2. Sustainability curriculum, 3. Student interships, mentoring and job shadowing and 4. A community outreach program. Ecostudents reaches over 417 at-risk students including 181 males, 226 females, 116 hispanic, 34 mixed race, 18 asian, 6 black, 5 american indian,34 special education students, 12 speech services, 30 ell programs, 43 free and reduced lunch and 38 response to intervention.
community curriculum - we provide program design, development and implementation services to schools that lowers classroom walls to allow learning to flow between teachers, students and community members via innovative science curriculum. The program engages teachers and students by: 1. Leveraging district technology and software 2. Providing real-world hands-on activities 3. Using community stem/steam professionals as partners 4. Incorporating arts activities directly related to the nevada academic content standards for science. Community curriculum reaches 7,760 students, 50. 4% are white, 41. 3% are hispanic, 0. 6% are black, 1. 8% are asian or pacific islander and 2. 3% are american indian or native of alaska. 51. 2% are economically disadvantaged.
