Mission: Summit house is a residential alternative-to-prison program for mothers convicted of non-violent crime and their minor children. Summit house is a non-profit organization that serves all 100 north carolina counties and saves state tax payers over $1million net annually. With location in the piedmont of north carolina, summit house empowers convicted mothers to break the multigenerational cycle of poverty, violence, and substance abuse that is their history, and to create a new life for themselves and their children. Summit house strives to keep families together by maximizing healthy bonding between mothers and children. The organization is committed to working with women who have the desire and dedication to change their lives through counseling, life and job skills training.
Programs: Program expenses are to keep the organization operating during time of temporary cessation of operations which are related to the programs. Operations were temporarily suspended as of june 30, 2012. No new admissions added to summit house after june 30, 2012. There were a total of 0 mothers in the program in year end june 2013. . The program - providing residential services to mothers convicted of non-violent crime, and children during the year. Residential services included medical expenses and prescriptions, groceries and supplies, enrichment and recreational support, drug screenings, education support and school supplies, parenting skills, behavior modification, personal counseling, substance abuse counseling, financial management and job skills & employment.
