Mission: Stop Children's Cancer is committed to the prevention, control and cure of childhood cancers. We raise funds in order to provide support for children's cancer research. Annually, funds are awarded and disbursed to selected research agencies.
Target demographics: Our focus is on finding cures for childhood cancers to bring cures worldwide.
Direct beneficiaries per year: In fiscal year 2020, 18 kids received bone marrow transplants at UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital in Gainesville, which treated kids from every county in Florida, 45 other states and Puerto Rico, and 7 other countries in the same year. Additionaly, 63 Clinical Trials were adminsitered to children with cancer.

Programs: To continue funding to support pediatric cancer research. Research funded includes: development of small molecule anti-leukemia drugs for children, activating p53 and antagonizing mdm2 and mdm4 by adenovirus e18 as a novel strategy for treating neuroblastoma, and the zinc finger transcription factor slug and its associated histone demethylase in acute b cell lymphoblastic leukemia. Also includes grant to "uf foundation fund #f017761" to establish the bonnie r. Freeman clinical trials funds under the direction of dr. William b. Slayton to conduct pediatric trial programs at the university of florida.
STOP Children's Cancer has contributed several million dollars to support pediatric clinical trials at the University of Florida. In addition, they have raised awareness of the needs of children with cancer through a radio based bear-a-thon, an extravagant and fun gala called "The Fantasy Event", and a yearly concert involving child musicians in our community called "Holiday Traditions." Through the support of this foundation, the University of Florida pediatric oncology program has increased the number of children enrolled on clinical trials by 400% and has become one of the top pediatric cancer programs in the country.
