Mission: STARS exists to serve schools and communities by providing prevention, intervention, and treatment services, addressing bullying, substance abuse, violence, and other social and emotional barriers to success.
Programs: Student assistance program (sap) - provides a comprehensive model for the delivery of prevention and intervention strategies and programs for students k-12. Sap specialists, in partnership with parents, student, school resource officers, other school faculty and community agencies and services, seek to remove barriers that impede student success.
tennessee statewide bullying prevention initiative - stars provides training to administration, faculty, and students across the state on best practices of bullying prevention. Training includes the olweus bullying prevention trainers; school climate and social emotional learning: safe dates; lifelines suicide prevention; from policy to practice; move2stand against bullying youth leadership training and restorative practices.
yoda - youth overcoming drug abuse offers compassionate care for uninsured adolescents with substance use and co-occurring disorders through intensive therapeutic models including cognitive behavioral and motivation enhancement therapies offered with consideration of the realities and diversity of our patients.
