Causes: Chambers of Commerce & Business Leagues
Mission: The stanley-sawtooth chamber of commerce was organized: (a) to promote the commercial business, professional and civic interests of stanley and the surrounding community; (b) to encourage and promote tourism throughout the area; (c) to encourage and promote the development and maintenance of recreational facilities and activities throughout the area; (d) to assist in the protection and preservation of our natural resources and wildlife; (e) to cooperate with federal and state agencies in helping to make this a prime area of pleasure and enjoyment for its citizens and seasonal visitors.
Programs: For the fiscal year ended september 30, 2016, the chamber's membership total was 75. Accomplishments: biglife (magazine): winter, spring, summer and fall ads were produced and distributed to 40,000 recipients. Central idaho guide ad was placed. Idaho state travel guide ad was placed. In-room guest directory ad was placed and distributed. Source (magazine): summer and winter ads were produced and placed. Boise weekly co-op ads were produced and placed. Sscc partnered with adjoining cities and counties to successfully create a central idaho dark sky reserve. Partnered with the city of stanley and the boise astronomical society for the 2017 solar eclipse, providing public service education during the weekend and day of the solar eclipse (path of totality was in stanley). Sponsored the united states bicycle route, directly contributing to the us bike route system. Several high resolution photographs were purchased for use in advertising and promotional pieces. Business directory and area map were produced and distributed. Posters were produced and distributed for several events. Weekly blogs and posts were created and distributed on our chamber website, facebook, instagram, and twitter. Public relations beyond regular social media posts included email campaigns and correspondence with idaho media newspapers, magazines, radio, television, and individuals. Editorial success was achieved through newspaper articles, television, websites, calendar coverage. Chamber website receives continued updates to remain current with local news, business, and events. Year end total page views was up 20% to 103,155 visitors. Our facebook page/posts are consistently reaching 55,000 impressions and 22,000 engagements per month. Sscc visitor center was open full time (7 days per week) starting june 1, 2016.
