Mission: The foundation, through its initiatives, partners with southwestern community college
Programs: Student success campaign - campaign with a goal of $1m to establish an unrestricted endowment for scholarships and other components that are essential to ensure ongoing student success at scc. Supported 3 full scholarships for students. New century scholars program: annual campaign to raise funds for the new century scholar program. New century scholars is designed to improve academic readiness, bolster student persistence toward high-school graduation and increase the college going rate of local students. It is a "last dollar" scholarship program.
2249 students served by the program since 1995. 190 new century scholars enrolled at scc during the 2016 - 2017 academic year. 54 new century scholar students graduated or will graduate from scc during the 2016 - 2017 academic year. 285 students in the "pipeline" covering grades 7-12 in jackson, macon, swain county's in western north carolina.
