Mission: Southern hills preservation corporation is a not-for-profit corporation formed in 1986. The organization's mission is to promote affordabel housing and community revitaliztaion through development, financing, advocacy, counseling and education. The organization serves rural southern onondaga county, including the towns of fabius, lafayette, marcellus, onondaga, otisco, pompey, spafford, skaneateles and tully. The organization provides products and services through the following primary activities: 1. Gathering data related to community need and working with municipalities and other non-profit organizations to meet community development goals. 2. Construction and rehabilitation of housing for low-income residents. 3. Homeownership education and counseling that specializes in homebuyer pre-purchase education and post-purchase homeownership counseling. 4. Providing access to funds to help income-qualified homeowners make needed repairs on their homes and first time buyers purchase and reh
Programs: Provide grants to income-qualified homeowners to make home repairs and to first-time buyers to purchase and rehabilitate a home; deliver housing- related and financial education and counseling for area homeowners, homebuyers and tenants; perform community needs assessments, provide planning and technical assistance, and work cooperatively in real estate development that supports community revitalization.
