Mission: Southeast alaska independent living (sail) inc. Is a federal and state recognized aging and disability resource center whose mission is to "inspire personal independence".
Programs: The independent living program provides a variety of services and supports necessary for seniors and people with disabilities to live as independently as possible in southeast alaska, including advocacy; information and referral; independent living skills training; peer support; and transition services (youth transition and assisting individuals to live in the least restrictive environment). Services and supports include housing, transportation, and employment assistance including benefits analysis; home modification and assistive device consultation; a loan and demonstration library; peer support groups; emergency financial assistance; sign language interpreters; adaptive recreation; and community education.
