Mission: OUR MISSION IS TO ASSIST HOMELESS PEOPLE TO IMPROVE THEIR LIFE SITUATION BY PROVIDING TEMPORARY AND LONG-TERM HOUSING, SUPPORTIVE SERVICES AND TO ADVOCATE FOR SOLUTIONS FOR HOMELESSNESS.
Programs: Emergency shelter: for up to 85 homeless men, women and children per night. In 2014, the south park inn helped 1,258 people including 57 children and 108 veterans. Provide meals, basic hygiene supplies, case management and service coordination to help people solve personal problems and get on their feet. On-site alcoholics anonymous, crisis intervention, limited medical and dental care and voluntary religious services.
transitional living program: for homeless men with very low incomes who are engaged in overcoming personal challenges in order to become more self sufficient, such as completing job training, obtaining high school diploma, establishing sobriety after treatment, stabilizing after mental illness, or improving life management ability; capacity 33, approximately 111 per year served. Special services were provided to 41 veterans.
plimpton house: permanent congregate housing with meals and intensive staff support for 35 long-term homeless men and women who cannot manage housing due to serious personal limitations, such as mental illness traumatic brain injury, borderline mental retardation, illiteracy, lack of job skills and inability to learn new ones, physical problems or combination of serious issues. Approximately 41 clients were served at plimpton house in 2014.
