Programs: Formerly known as the cambodian christian school network (ccsn), banteay meanchey arise is a project of seapc, based on the principle that a nation can be changed through prayer, and provides christ-centered health, education, economic development, and parenting to the people of banteay meanchey province of cambodia. Banteay meanchey arise (also known as bc arise) began in 2007 with providing christ-centered education to 4,000 students in banteay meanchey's rongko school district. Known then as the cambodia christian school network, the impoverished and rural teachers and students served quickly rose to being ranked first nationally in science, math, and english. They held this ranking for 5 consecutive years. Today, led by mr. Bun heng (minister of education for the province) and a team of well-trained cambodian national missionaries, seapc is operating daily through the entire public school system of banteay meanchey province, effectively serving 488 public schools and 126,000 students. Some students who have graduated high school have propensity to teach, but cannot afford to go to the city to university, have been taken on as assistants and paid a stipend by seapc so they can learn to become teachers. This is the beginning of our teacher college. Seapc continued to supplement all the rongko teachers salaries by 50 usd per month to increase their focus and commitment to being good teachers. The preschool continues to provide great education. Seapc pays these teachers their salary since it is an seapc prgoram and not funded by the government. Our goal is to break the poverty cycle in cambodia through education, opportunity, and faith.
