Causes: Education, Scholarships, Scholarships & Student Financial Aid
Mission: The mission of the Sound Start Babies Foundation for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children is to support families of babies with hearing loss during the most critical years of brain development—birth to age 3—regardless of their financial status with identification, evaluation, therapeutic intervention and education.
Target demographics: babies, ages 0 to 3, who are deaf or hard of hearing
Direct beneficiaries per year: 70 babies with hearing loss and their families
Geographic areas served: 11 counties in New Jersey
Programs: critical, multi-disciplinary support to ensure their future success and quality of life. Our teachers and therapists educate families so their children can listen and speak on a level comparable to their hearing peers.
