Mission: Promotion of amateur hockey in accordance with accepted youth movement objectives, among which includes promoting physical skills, competition, teamwork, discipline, and respect for and reliance on authority.
Programs: For fy 2016-17, skaha had record numbers of participants playing at our two facilities. The largest portion of this population plays recreational (rec) hockey, which allows them time to play other sports or participate in other activities. The remaining group plays representative (rep) hockey, which involves travel to canada and other states in the us. This year, the youngest age groups at both rec and rep were at or near the top of their league standings. At the oldest group level, two rep teams went to the usa hockey national championships (14u & 18u) and represented the association well several players were invited to tryout for whl teams, and one player was drafted in the second round. Skaha offers programming for kids to learn to skate and play hockey, and to be on teams to compete.
