This tribute was produced by Elle Tracy Photography. Yolanda Cooper, who is the owner of this company, is a single mother herself who has also provided family portraits to Single Parent families. 2nd Annual Back-To-School Supply Drive. Our network of families has grown since last year from just over 50 families to over 70 for 2012. This increase is due to the recent tornado in Lancaster and 20 additional families from The Family Place. These 70+ families represent almost 200 individual children in need. Our network has grown, which means our need has grown as well. Through our membership with World Vision, as well as our partnerships with Siemens, Operation Back To School and retailers like Chick Fil A and Starbucks, we know that every child in our network will get a back pack full of school supplies. SPA is not just an online portal or a forum. We want to start a movement that will bring about a profound and positive improvement in the way single parents navigate the world and how their children fare. Thanksgiving 2012 – provided 70+ single parent families and 200+ children a Thanksgiving meal  Partnered with North Texas Food Bank who provided a 12-14 lb turkey to each family along with 25 lbs of non-perishable side items  Partnered with Grace Outreach Church and Uptown Women’s Center as distribution locatoins  Life Message in Rowlett donated 25lb boxes of food to be distributed with the turkeys  Volunteers from World Ventures helped distribute food to Single Parent families who were able to pick up their family’s food Christmas 2012 – provided 70+ single parent families and 200+ children a Christmas meal  Partnered with North Texas Food Bank who provided a12-14 lb turkey to each family  Life Message donated an additional 20 lbs of non-perishable food items to each family  Through our membership at World Vision, we were able to donate book, games toys to each family  Volunteers from World Ventures helped distribute the food and helped with the onsite event at Grace Outreach Center in Plano, TX that included Santa photos, baskets for each mom, and stockings for each child.  Grace Outreach Church donated space, stockings, food, and volunteers to make Christmas for those who came  Provided toys through our memberships, volunteer base and collaborations to Gifts for Moms, PC Center Women’s Center, and The Family Place We see our vision in three stages: • Short-term: Increase the awareness of strong and suitable aid from private, public and non-profit sectors that is in reach to single parent families. Make sure single parent families have the resources to productively contribute to, and participate in their communities for the public good and for their own individual good. • Medium-term: Develop a community of single parent families that work together to cope with adversities and productively and positively make things happen for their own family as well as other families like them. • Long-term: The ultimate impact we strive to accomplish is to decrease generational despair and societal ills including crime, drug abuse and alcoholism that is driven by the poverty or emotional distress that single parent families often face. SPA would like to decrease poverty and help reduce job loss, school drop-out rates, domestic violence, foreclosures and the other forms of financial ruin that many of these families are dealing with on a daily basis. Subsequently, SPA envisions families with enhanced self-esteem and an improved social footing, increased educational access and success for children, resulting in more contributions from them to society as a whole. With these changes we will realize an increased drive towards self-sufficiency among single parents and a trusting, well-established sense of community so that the children from single parent families never feel abandoned. Presently, Single Parent Advocate needs to move toward the Mid-term phase of its plans. In order to effectively develop the community of single parent families working together, we need staff, office space and safe socials, all of which have hard costs. We also need insurance, a grant writer, fundraising events and memberships at typical non-profit organizations. Our budget, which includes operational and program funds, is set at $118,800.00 for 2013. Funding from corporate sponsorships, private donations, operational grants, and collaborative parters in this amount will fund the existing programs and allow us to add scholarships and develop temporary/transitional housing alongside other organizations in DFW. Please carefully consider our new organization for funding. The need far outweighs the types of programs that are currently available and Single Parent Advocate is desperately trying to fill the needs of as many single parent families as possible. We are truly grateful for anything you can provide.

Single Parent Advocate has been a huge blessing to my program I work in Community Outreach for The Family Place. They sponsored my program and went well beyond what I could have ever hoped. For Mother’s Day, they charted a bus (because very few of my clients have vehicles) and took the single moms and their children to a Mother’s Day celebration where they were feed and given many gifts. They also have provided Thanksgiving and Christmas food baskets and donated toys Christmas 2012. I cannot say how much their support has meant to the families I serve. What a WONDERFUL organization!

Single Parent Advocate (SPA) has helped the Dallas/Ft. Worth community in so many ways. They have helped with Back to School and giving Turkey Dinner giveaways. SPA has also uplifted and honored those single parents on Mother and Father's day. Those are local things but what about nationally you say? Well SPA provide links to healthcare, support and other organizations that others can turn to in their community to help assist them.

All in All... SPA answers the questions when you don't know where to turn to get help in your situation.

For that I thank you as a general member and volunteer

This is an amazing gift from God. As a single mom of 2 boys with no child support , this foundation provided a wealth of knowledge to get me through the hard times. There are events, and ways to make friends. They help so many and do it with eagerness. I wish more people knew about the founders cause for Single Parent Advocate. They move mountains already, they could do even more support.I love helping this group simply because I love where their heart is. Love you SPA!!!!!
