Mission: The organization's primary mission is to provide quality primary and secondary educational programs that respect, foster and value each student's cognitive domain, cultural diversity, social, physical and emotional growth and well being. Where such programs may include, but not limited to, classes, teachers training, community involvement and outreach.
Programs: Vision:silicon valley academys vision is to develop childrens love of learning so they become lifelong learners and consciousness contributing members of society. Our current programs have implemented the glad model (guided language acquisition design) to help our vision become a reality in the daily lives of our students. Achievements:we have made many achievements over the years based on our schools vision. During the 2013-14 academic year, sva is proud to have sponsored the education of 4 local orphans and over 12 socially disadvantaged children. Sva was able to partner with different organizations to help in the support of the orphans at our school. These organizations included rahima foundation and givelight foundation. We have proud to have added an additional 2nd/3rd grade class to our school. An additional achievement this past year was the numerous after school programs sva offered to help enhance the education and enrichment of our students. Some of the enrichment classes offered included computer programming, nutrition, running club, basketball, & art. In addition, our pta continued to help sva staff plan school wide events. We also enhanced our arabic program to include conversational dialog with added support. Other achievements included our students continuing to perform high academically with high level of placements in competitions and on tests. Finally, sva continues to be in the forefront of education by continuing its research with stanford university as well as continuing to train local public and private school teachers and administrators in the project glad teaching model. Future goals:sva goals for the 2014-2015 academic year are to continue our sponsorship of local orphans and the socially disadvantaged students. We are also ensuring that our current arabic program is taught using project glad strategies. Furthermore, with our growing student population, hiring new staff members, and increasing the salaries of our current staff. Moreover, we are looking into building maintenance such as upgrading our student restrooms and redesigning our website. Finally, we have a goal to raise funds to purchase a brand new playground structure and a new building for our school.
