Mission: The Sherman Volunteer Fire Department is an all-volunteer organization providing fire fighting and ambulance services for the residents of Sherman. Sherman’s all-volunteer fire department responds to an average of 400 emergency calls each year, including structure fires, motor vehicle accidents, hazardous material incidents, and medical emergencies. Each time our volunteers’ are notified of one of these emergencies, they leave their families at the dinner table or in their beds in the middle of the night to rush to the aid of their community. Our volunteers also dedicate over 200 hours annually towards training and certification for firefighting and medical emergency qualifications.
