Thank goodness for My Sister Carla Lynch & Her Shawano Cares About Critters organization! An aquaintance of mine had been ousted from the farm She had lived on for 15 yrs and had left 2 Female cats behind. She could no longer make it out there to feed the cats & I had taken over purchasing & feeding dry food once a day out there. One night I went out to leave the food in the old frying pan like I had for the past 2 weeks except this time, something was different. Tonight I saw 5 or 6 fluffy little shadows pop out from under the barn door. "Oh no" I thought to Myself. I picked up one of the kitts that would let me, so i could look at its little face & thats when I noticed its eyes were totally gunked up,glued shut& then some! The poor little baby only toddled up because it hadnt been able to see Me, it had actually only heard Me. Imediately They all ran back to the barn & I walked back to My car to leave. What was i going to do? I was going to sit & cry for 10 minutes, thats what! Afterall I allready had the 1 least feral of the farms 3 cats & Her 2, 6 wk old babies plus an orphan that had been found in the road laying next to its dead Mother down by Neenah that "My" semi feral Mother had the graciousness to accept as Her own, at my home. I COULDNT DO IT OVER AGAIN! I JUST DIDNT HAVE IT IN ME! So, I texted Carla, still crying. Long Story short, Carla captured the 4 remaining fluffballs, (one we found had allready passed away- which Carla then had respectfully made a grave for, then layed it to rest.) Carla took the surviving kittens back to Her Own home and cared for them til they were able to be taken in by an org in Milwaukee, a Member of which, so very kindly met Us in Fondulac! It is so comforting to know those kittens wont be freezing to death this coming Winter! Also Carla is currently assisting with trapping the 2 remaining adult females at the farm & in the meantime- She & the Shawano Cares About Critters group has sent both wet and dry food to sustain the cats till they can go in for spaying & in this case, relocating to a safer environment, hopefully another local rural colony.
