Mission: To protect the water supply for communities and businesses along the savannah river in georgia and south carolina. The last memorandum of agreement was signed by the city of north augusta on august 31, 2016.

This deal meets all of the criteria that were established between the utility partners and the organization. As the land conservation partners have not finalized their negotiations with the land owners, the deal has not yet closed.
promoted best land management practices by securing $70,000 from the ga/sc foresty commissions for a forest management consultant that is working in the basin to strengthen the forest and drinking water connection through projects that enhance public surface water supplies through strategic forest consevation, restration, and management.
promoted science research in the basin by establishing a science advisory committee to guide the board on science issues relating to water quality, to recommend a research agenda for watershed water quality issues, to identify research necessary to advance the organization's mission, and to frame the goals and agenda for an annual water quality meeting.
