Given that the average out of pocket cost of living with Parkinson's exceeds $20,000 a year, it is critical that organizations like Rise Above Parkinsons step in to help. No one should be denied access to medications and therapies because of financial need. Unfortunately, that happens every day. I am proud to be able to serve this organization. They not only provide financial assistance, but their direct experience of living with Parkinson's allows them to connect and support their clients in a unique way.
I've been working with Rise Against Parkinsons to help my father connect to the community and find resources this year. Wayne and Dawn have been excellent to work and plan with. Our family is very grateful for them!
Dawn has been tangible from the jump start with aiding me with direction and help since my mother's recent diagnosis with PD. I am very grateful from her help and guidance through this tough time.

I have been involved with FUNdraising for several years. The Mission Statement of Rise Above Parkinson's, Inc is, “We provide Finanicial assistance to people living with Parkinson’s disease so they can access the support and services they need to live a quality life.”
Yes, stated simply, the Money donated helps the Individual with Parkinson’s. It doesn’t go into a staffs pockets or CEO’s.

The folks at Rise Above appeared in my journey when I was in great need. It seemed to good to be true! But they are the real deal! Kind, compassionate and competent. Dawn and Wayne are a wealth of information. The process was quick and easy. Something I wasnt experiencing with other aspects of my Parkinsons journey. They treat you like family!
My wife and I are proud to support this foundation, all too often insurance companies and the government neglect the additional expenses involved in any illness requiring long term care. This foundation helps with what the insurance companies and government programs miss. Keep up the good work.
Rise Above is a great organization if you are unable to afford the important services for your Parkinson’s journey. For example needing financial help to upgrade your home with safety features, purchasing a wheel chair, medications and related items for your well being. I would highly recommend contacting if you need help with the extra expense.
I recently donated to Rise Above Parkinsons because it’s an organization helping people diagnosed with Parkinson’s in everyday practical ways and founded by people with direct experience living with Parkinson’s. There are many expenses insurance just doesn’t cover and Rise Above Parkinsons works with individuals to fill the gap. They also act as a referral for Parkinson patients to get helpful services which they may be unaware exist. This foundation is of enormous help because it has real life experiences to share and help.

From the moment I spoke with both Wayne and Dawn I knew they truly cared about other people with Parkinson's Disease and wanted to do something to help. This is a stellar organization. I was asked to help them during their final days before launching the non profit live. They are both very professional, knowledgeable, and fair.
I worked very hard all my life to raise a family and plan for my "golden.years. I had a relatively comfortable life when i was told that I had parkensons which I knew very little about. The neurologist who diagnosed me gave me a pamphlet and prescription and an appointment to come back 3 months. I was devastated. Yhe pamphlet told me all the scarry things that were going to happen to me. I read every thing I could get my hands on. I still had not talked or met any one with parkinsons.
Having spent thousands of dollars on different doctors I was having to dive into my savings which was definitely no planed for.
Having to drive 100 miles each way for dr visits, additional medical insurance and medications have made
me struggle to make ends meet
Then out of the blue Wayne gets in touch with me an immediately offers financial assistance and introduce ,me to programs offered the JCC that I could take advantage of. This has given me a new lease on life.l can't wait to get more involved. What a life saving organization.

I reached out to Dawn from Rise Above Parkinsons to ask for funding consideration through another Parkinsons program. Her response was quick and full of kindness. The application process was fast. Before I knew it I was awarded some extremely helpful funds for physical therapy. I have been newly diagnosed and unprepared for my family's new curve ball. Both Dawn and Wayne are constantly available for guidance and support. Wayne has changed my perspective on Parkinsons. I can't possibly thank them enough for being there for me and my family.
These past few months I was hit with some big expenses due to my Parkinson's, and I didn't know how I was going to be able to pay for my medication. I was feeling overwhelmed and depressed. Rise Above Parkinson's helped me cover the cost. Now I feel like I can breath again. Thank goodness for Rise Above Parkinson's.
This non profit which is successful because of the non judgmental, caring and personal touch one receives in this stressful undertaking. Asking for help is embarrassing and they make it fun. One of the owners has Parkinson's and has experienced the same challenges as most PWP. They help you research what you are looking for in a comfortable, non rushed manner. Always reminding PWP "we are all in this together"
