Mission: The relief boutique, inc. Was formed to help economically disadvantaged women in the new york city area succeed in their employment by providing them with access to professional clothing and accessories appropriate for the workforce. By providing personal service and professional attire to our clients, we aim to assist them in building confidence, a positive attitude and high self-esteem traits essential to successful employment and professional advancement. In 2014, the main activities of the relief boutique included providing clothing to underserved women in the new york city area who were preparing for job interviews, and participating in community events to provide information on appropriate workplace attire.
Programs: Relief boutique operations main activity involves providing professional clothing to women in need. We partner with community organizations based in the new york city area and we assist the women in their programs by helping them prepare for their upcoming interviews, new jobs or other professional endeavors. We provided professional clothing to over 200 women in 2014, and to over 800 women in total since our founding. Each of our clients receives two professional outfits, a pair of shoes, a handbag, and, when available, a bra and other accessories. We also provide clients with information on caring for their work wardrobes and we provide tips on being prepared for their upcoming interviews or their new jobs.
