Mission: Reading is Essential for All People is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving reading proficiency in public school students. We believe the best way to make a positive impact in all public school children we must concentrate on their most valuable resource - public school teachers. The teachers in our program use their new skills in the regular classroom to ensure a strong reading foundation.
Results: REAP has trained over 840 public school teachers since 2013.
Target demographics: increase reading proficiency in public school students
Direct beneficiaries per year: 1000's of public school readers through teacher training and enrichment.
Geographic areas served: Georgia
Programs: Public School Teacher Training in the Foundations of Reading Instruction. The techniques benefit all students but are especially critical for struggling readers.
