Nonprofit Overview
Mission: To teach young children (1st graders) that reading is important and that adults value reading.
Results: Last year, our program reached almost 100 1st graders. This school year (2024-25) we have expanded to 5 schools, 8 classrooms, 125 children.
Target demographics: Teach 1st graders the value of reading.
Direct beneficiaries per year: Almost 100 1st graders, in 4 schools, in 6 different classes.
Geographic areas served: the Janesville School District
Programs: Visiting classrooms, reading stories, and having the 1st graders serve as “storytellers” using puppets. We visit monthly throughout the year, with our motto… “Readers Are Leaders”.
