Rahima Foundation helps people in need of basic necessities like food, shelter, education, transportation, etc. I have been a volunteer for 20 years. The founder, Habibe Husain is a remarkable women with great compassion, vision, and executive skills. They currently provide food baskets to over 400 families with a monthly distribution of 13 tons of food, and an in-kind financial assistance to many families. They also provide help to students thru tuition assistance and scholarships.

Causes: Gift Distribution, Human Services
Mission: Orgaizations primary exempt purpose is to provide food, clothing, education, assistance, and housing alllowance to poor and needy families.
Programs: Current programs: - groceries to supplement the monthly requirements of non-perishable food items for ~ 1500 people. - biweekly serve dinner at two shelters for the homeless to around 200 people. - provide financial assistance to deserving families and individuals towards their rent, utilities etc. Achievements in 2017: - over 1500 individuals received ~ 12 tons of groceries monthly. - 200 individuals were served hot meals in 2 shelters per month. - financial assistance of 45k/month were provided to 140 families - human dignity day was held in the month of ramadan where we provided a hot lunch,t-shirts, socks and hydience packs to over 200 homeless individuals. Future programs: - expand our services to other bay area locations - develop and implement services for seniors. - snacks/meals to students from underprivileged families. - need based assis.
