Dr. Mike Cohen, makes himself readily available to discuss and model methods formulated through decades long consensual symbiosis with Gaia. Dr. Stacey Mallory stewards the organization with personal fortitude and oversight deeply rooted in Mother Earth’s wisdom. Together, they have written numerous manuals and piloted programs which sustainably allow earth to teach.
In my many years of life I have been deeply involved with a number of worthwhile non-profit organizations. When I discovered Project NatureConnect and began my coursework through a conversation with Dr. Michael J Cohen, it answered deep questions that had puzzled me my entire life. Never have I experienced any study that opened my mind to a new way of perceiving life. The depth and value of information taught and shared is beyond being measurable as it's value continues to grow with the changes and experiences of each year.
The programs offered by Dr. Cohen, and guided by Dr. Stacey Mallory and other assistants, focus on experiential intelligence blended with science... based on the science and wisdom of creation. There is no other program I am aware of, whose content is capable of changing life on planet earth for all humans who would embrace it's tenets.
Recognition of the life's work of Dr. Michael J Cohen and members of this institution is long overdue.
Project Natureconnect (PNC) is an amazing organization that has opened my eyes and many many others to the deep connection that is possible with nature. The founder of the PNC, Michael J. Cohen is a brilliant human being who has very clearly communicated the impacts that our industrial society has had on nature and how we as humans can support nature through a much deeper connection with her. I have been very honoured to be connected with Dr. Cohen and the Co-Director, Dr. Stacey Mallory - for they have invested many years/hours of energy into the promotion of this work and the education of many many students. I hope that PNC is a going concern for many many years to come!

After taking a short free online course in 1997, it was clear this study area was a perfect fit. I graduated with a Master of Science in Applied Ecopsychology Integrated Ecology three years later. For the past 22 years, I've enjoyed teaching nature-based experiential workshops at conferences, libraries, and nature centers to adults seeking insight, restoration, and inspiration. Attendees leave my workshops with tools and more precise access to a newfound font of wisdom to help negotiate life with a sense of resiliency.

Project Nature Connect is the original education and advocacy work for ecopscyhology. They have decades of service educating though higher education opportunities that they make accessible through scholarship. I have degrees from other R1 institutions and I appreciate the freedom of scientific exploration without the confines or traditional academia. I believe that to explore novel topics, there needs to be the ability to go in all directions including inner work and learning through personal experience. The value of personal experience is often rejected from the scientific method because of bias. However, when you are exploring a concept that is deeply personal and has no established theoretical framework, it is driven by curiosity from personal experience. The great historical thinkers did not study something because it was already established by someone else. They did it because they were curious. Big problems such as climate change cannot be solved in an academic box. I also appreciated the opportunity to conduct doctoral projects that were both case study and research project-oriented. My experience was one that felt supported and had a level of depth that I had not known previously.
Three years ago I found Project NatureConnect and its Ph.D. Applied Ecopsychology program. I recently finished the program and was awarded the degree. Staff, advisors, and professors are professional, helpful, and friendly. I learned much during the program, including things about myself. I highly recommend Project NatureConnect and its Ecopsychology and Eco Arts programs.
I first heard about Project Nature Connect while I was in a Doctorate Program at the University of Glasgow, Scotland. The flier that I received was compelling; it advocated a closer connection to self through Nature. As an idealist who is always searching for self-actualization (Maslow's hierarchy of needs), this was the ticket for me. After a couple of years of being thwarted and bludgeoned with concepts and ideas that I didn't agree with and that I couldn't connect with honestly, I left the Doctoral programs of (first) the University of Glasgow and then Grand Canyon University. Only afterwards did I join Project Nature Connect. As I have proceeded through the well-thought out classes, I have indeed gained a closer and more intense version of myself through and in Nature. (And I've lived off-grid in the forest for 15 years....no one knows what they don't know.) Project Nature Connect is a salient, valuable group of people implementing important ideas; exactly right, perfectly perfect for our world today.
