Mission: The prayers from maria foundation was established to fight a specific form of childhood brain cancer commonly referred to as gliomas. The foundations purpose is to find a cure for this tragic family of diseases, while also providing information and assistance to families with children who suffer from gliomas.
Results: Awarded over $1,000,000 in research grant which has resulted in over $7,000,000 in matching funds from the National Institute of Health
Direct beneficiaries per year: We awarded a $500,000 collaborative grant to Dana Farber and the University of Cinncinnati to develop cutting edge research into to childhood brain cancer
Programs: Prayers from Maria is dedicated to funding global research into the causes, prevention, treatments, and cure for the deadliest childhood brain tumors known as gliomas raising public awareness about gliomas and bringing hope to children and their families who deal with the hardships of this disease. Prayers from maria provides case western reserve universitys cancer center with funding to support the research in the use of nano-technology to more effectively treat pediatric glioma brain tumors. The organization also provides information and assistance to families with children suffering from gliomas.
