As a proud board member of the Positive Black Male Association of Houston, Inc., I am honored to celebrate over 25 years of transformative service to our youth and community. PBMAH is more than just a mentoring program—it is a movement committed to developing tomorrow’s leaders today. Over the past two and a half decades, we have mentored hundreds of boys and girls ages 6 to 18, instilling in them the power of leadership, integrity, self-worth, and service.
Through consistent programming that includes college tours, financial literacy, leadership retreats, basketball and team-building camps, and school-based mentorship, we teach our signature 12 Essential Values and the 6 Vital Steps to Self-Esteem. While we do mentor in public schools, our primary reach is through youth from the community. Families come from all over Houston—including Angleton, Baytown, Sugar Land, and Pearland—seeking the support, structure, and empowerment that PBMAH provides. We proudly recognize our students with the President’s Volunteer Service Award for their contributions to the community and provide scholarships to our graduating seniors. PBMAH creates a safe and empowering space for our youth, and I have seen firsthand how lives are changed, families are strengthened, and futures are shaped. I highly recommend this organization to anyone who believes in the power of mentorship and purpose-driven service.

I love this program. They give out scholarships for college, college tours, teach the value and the steps to obtaining Character and become a leader. PBMA is a family. Community and serving the community is top priority as well.
Amazing. The organization is lead by Dr. Rob and supported by his wife! This organization avails mothers who are single parents the opportunity to have their sons influenced on a consistent basis by positive black men! I feel that we as a people I have been blessed by God through this couple by the services that they provide! My gratitude has no end!
This program is amazing, it truly gives back to the community and invest in the children’s future. It is hard core on education, mannerism, respect and giving back to others . The quality of the program is definitely 5 stars with opportunities given to the youth that they may not have otherwise been given. The program make sure each child understands that life is what you as an individual make of it and they have a village to support them. I am proud to be a part of the program where my daughter graduated in the top 10 of her Senior Class of 700. During her time with the program she has given over 1000 hours in Community Service where feeding and caring for the homeless was top tier. My daughter Deidre was also the Outstanding Female Senior Scholar due to all the activities involvement and community service hours volunteered via this program. God bless to continue this great purpose for helping and guiding our youth to be successful.
PBMA has been an excellent influence in the lives of many scholars in the 3rd Ward area of Houston, TX. Dr. Rob and his team provide character education lessons that will develop our scholars into leaders who will transform the neighborhood where they reside. I applaud all the PBMA programs such as Giggles and Girls and the GENTS. These programs expose inner city youth to colleges, camps, and volunteer opportunities. I highly recommend PBMA to anyone who is looking for a mentoring program for their son or daughter that will treat you like family.
PBMA is an one of a kind Organization, changing lives for girls and boys. My daughter is 9yrs old and she loves it. She reminds me about events and meetings when I forget. She has a heart for helping others, the community involvement is one of her favorite things to do. PBMA is strongly based on teaching LEADERSHIP to the kids and a host of other things. My daughter has taken what she's learned about Leadership and literally ran with it, at school and in everyday life. I can thank PBMA for helping me build the confidence she has. She recently won Vice President on the Student Council Committee at school, she told me "I was born a leader!".
This past summer was one to remember. My daughter finally was older enough for Stoney Creek camp for a week, she had been anxiously waiting on her time. It was everything she thought and more. I didn't think I would be able to handle her being gone for a week but every day when I spoke with her, she barley wanted to talk to me lol. The summer vision board was also a HIT! A weekend get away in Conroe , with lots of fun, food, surprises and bonding moments.
This organization is more than what I typed here. Check them out on Facebook and Instagram, you'll see!!!!

From mentoring, to coaching, playing at parent role when needed, loving on the kids, letting them know when they're wrong, teaching them how to be successful in life in every aspect. I could go on & on... the college tours, guest speakers, checking grades etc. If your looking for a program to help mold your child to be the best leader they can be or your child may need a positive role model, a new crowd with positive kids etc. PBMA raise leaders, high school and college graduates who come back and give back. They have so much more offer than what I wrote. Sign your kid or kids up Today! What are you waiting on? Your kid will blossom!

PBMA have changed their lives for the better and I know they will continue to do the same for other children .
Positive Black Males Association of Houston is a really great program for the youth of the community. There are so many mentoring programs around the City of Houston but none are like this one in particular. Dr. Rob and his team take their individual time with each and every child that participates. His is a father, brother, uncle, counselor or whatever he needs to be in a child life in order to succeed and be very successful in life. The opportunities that these kids will experience is once in a life time. They learn hard work and dedication, life lessons, and they volunteer and give back to the community.
Over 8 years of serving and meeting the needs of greater Houston. PMBA continues to be an organization making transformational impact in lives of families. I know this first hand. I started out as a partner, and later became informal client via my daughter, that was being bullied in Middle school. I did not know who I could turn to and I thought of ny many years of supporting PBMA. I called them for help and without hesitation, the founders helped my family develop an action plan. I remain committed to PBMA vision & mission, wholeheartedly.

The Positive Black Males of Houston organization has been a blessing to my son and many other youth in the Houston area. It is uncommon to find everyday heroes, but Dr. Rob is definitely a hero in our community. Through the Positive Black Males of Houston, my son is learning to bond with other youth and developing leadership, volunteer and other critical skills that he will need to be successful by working with the mentors in the program. Being in this program has also sparked a strong interest in my son to attend college. There is great value in The Positive Black Males of Houston and the benefits it offers our children. - Deborah Barnett, parent
PBMA is an awesome program, I joined this program when my oldest was in tenth grade, since that time I have had 2 other kids to come through this program. Mr. Rob is an amazing role model he goes over and beyond the role of a mentor. Attending the kids school activities, home visits/counseling if needed. I don't know what would have happened today my son had it not been for his guidance and leadership. The program offers community service, leadership training classes, college tours , prayer help with school clothes and Christmas gifts. I love this program.
Positive Black Males Association of Houston is an amazing organization. It is a Leadership Program. They go over and beyond in what they do for the youth of the organization. In addition to the Leadership Meetings twice a month they provide the opportunities to attend college tours, participate in community service, go to camps, go to leadership conferences with other organizations and colleges along with many other opportunities. We have amazing sponsors and are always looking for more. My son is in the organization as well as two of my daughters in the sister chapter Ladies of Great Purpose. This organization became a part of our lives at a very crucial time and have been a tremendous blessing over the past 4 years we have been in membership. I am also a mentor that aids in teaching leadership to the young ladies in Ladies of Great Purpose. This has holistically been rewarding for my family and I am very happy with the outcome I have received over the years.
They do a lot of thing for the community. So much volunteering for not just blacks but for everyone. It is a real example for all African Americans.
I'm a single mother of twins now 14.We joined PBMA four years ago. My children have been inspired to strive to be the best and believe they are the best in what the do. Now they understand the duty to help others and their community. PBMA and Giggles and Girls and Ladies of Great Purpose is a youth organization with christian values that is dedicated to kids Success.
This is a great organization but needs more donors and support to offset the many fees parents are asked for over and over. I would like to hear more from the youth it supports.
PBMA is a trajectory changing organization that empowers our children and youth! Every child needs a mentoring program like this!
I love this program. This program is so life changing for my kid. Dr. Rob is so
Compassionate he cares about the whole child. He shows up to schools when the kids are not doing well or just need a parent presence. He counsels them as well as us parents. He is the ultimate mentor. I appreciate this program so much

The Youth are required to give back to the community though community service. Community service builds character and integrity in the positive development of our youth. Feeding and sleeping with the homeless are just some of the program requirements along with helping to rebuild the community. College tours and hunting and fishing other mentor programs and just a few of the program outstanding programs. I can go on and on about the PositiveblackMaleolfHouston. First and foremost God is the most important thing in the program. In closing Dr Rob and Mrs Rob are a God sent to me and our PositiveblackMaleolfHouston family.
My son has been a part of PBMA for a little over 4 years, this program is a blessing to our lives. Dr. Rob builds our sons up in leadership and service with tools they can use for a lifetime. This program is a jewel to our community.
I have been affiliated with the Positive Black Male Association for 6 years. My grandson became a member of the PBMA in 2010, when he was in the 3rd grade. He is now 17 years old and a senior in high school. This organization has helped him develop his leadership skills that he will used through his life time. He has learned the true meaning of helping the less fortunate through volunteering opportunities provided by PBMA. For young males , this is a great organization to belong to.
The Positive Black Male of Houston is an awesome program. Under the leadership of Dr. Rob, this program is helping many males achieve their goals and become leaders in their communities. I would highly recommend this program to every child.
I love this program, I have graduated 3 kids from program. We love the community service, the college tours, and the leadership classes. Dr. and Mrs. Rob are amazing with the kids we love them.
My husband and I have enjoyed the time our son has been a part of the PBMA. This program is not only for at risk children. It provides a wide array of experiences such as volunteering, travel, networking and just plain ole socializing away from the video games. PBMA considers themselves a part of your village and as such they are there for you as well as your children. Some times Dr. Rob or Mrs. Rob will just call to ask about you, the parent. My son was a well behaved two parented honor roll student when he joined but we wanted him to be well rounded and exposed to many people and experiences and Dr. Rob's program affords him that. I am NOT a parent who needs PBMA in my life. I AM A PARENT WHO WANTS THEM IN MY LIFE! Choose PBMA for your child and you'll see what I'm talking about. May God bless your program, Dr. Rob.
Absolutely love this program, the most caring people ever. Dr Rob goes out the way to pour into these kids like non other
