I have participated in events that raise money and awareness for the PKU community. This organization goes above and beyond what I ever expected. The people who run this are amazing. They have credible resources that assist in gaining up to date information. They have assisted me financially in obtaining formula that is crucial in getting necessary nutrients and vitamins due to the lack of proteins that most people get everyday. I can this PKU Helping Hands Inc. continuing to grow and be an integral part of the medical community and for patients who live with PKU.

In July, I attended a full day workshop through my clinic at Albany Medical. The purpose of the workshop was to educate and encourage patients (and families) about PKU. This is the third year I've attended, however just a few weeks before the date our dietician (who runs the workshop) found out that the funding was not going to happen this year. PKU Helping Hands jumped in and helped support the program. In addition to the organization being a help with my PKU, the family who runs the program is BEYOND dedicated to the PKU community. I am happy to say that I've had the pleasure of meeting them quite a few times. Thank you for all you do! :) The PKU community greatly appreciates it. - Katie Maguire
