Mission: Pickup and delivery of 40,000 meals per week from donor to agency. Maintain web application which tracks food surplus and also matches food donations between donor, recipient and volunteer. Manage 300 volunteers to help pickup and delivery food. The staff will also pickup and delivery food when volunteer cannot be found.
Programs: Peninsula food runners delivers 40,000 weekly to shelters. We deliver to over 100 shelters. Over 10,000 families benefit from our program, including homeless citizens. The mission of peninsula food runners is to help alleviate hunger and minimize food waste in the san francisco peninsula. Peninsula food runners relays perishable and prepared foods to community organizations that feed families from south san francisco to san jose (san mateo and santa clara counties).
