Mission: In 1990, Pacoima Urban Village emerged out of the efforts of families who were disturbed by the low quality of their lives including public education, health services and availibity to local services and support groups. Parents and residents embarked on the difficult task of developing a grass-roots community run organization that would develop programs to address the complex problems families are facing. The long-range goals of the organizations mission include building self-sufficiency though educational, health and economic development programs.
