Mission: To provide integrated programs and services for assisting oromo community in minnesota, to become self sufficient and to create vibrant sustancialble and cohesive community while promoting oromo social culture, historical value and ethics.
Programs: Senior program: during the year we assisted 67 seniors with household chores; organized 12 monthly social get events where elders were served food and entertained; we also provided them with year-round assistance with transportation, medical appointments, translations, and connecting with different public and private resources.
refugee sttlement: 29 clients received assistance with immigration issues; 67 were assisted in filling out application for public housing; 49 clients received letters of support; 125 were helped in accessing public benefit
employment program: with the assistance of this program, 147 individuals were able to be gainfully employed. This was accomplished by assisting clients with resume writing, cover letter writing, interviews, and job search, and follow up with employers.
