Mission: The oregon youth sailing foundation was established with the purpose of encouraging, promoting, and supporting youth sailing in oregon and southwestern washington. Particular attention is given to making sailing accessible to the low income and under served community. This is accomplished through targeting our donations to programs deemed consistent with our mission, as well as through encouraging volunteerism from among the sailing community and beyond.
Programs: Oregon youth sailing provided a grant of $3000 to the youth gorge sailing team at the yaquina bay yacht club to go toward purchase of boats on which to practice their sailing
oregon youth sailing foundation provided a grant to each of 2 young women to defray travel costs to attend the ida lewis national women's regatta.
oregon youth sailing foundation provided a grant of $1500 to 2 members of the willamette sailing club to attend the national sailing symposium to help defray costs. The grant had the stipulation that the attendees confer with attendees from other clubs to gain insight as to what programs they have in place to serve youth sailing; particularly to those from underserved communities.
