Causes: Education
Mission: The Ojai Education Foundation is a community-based, nonprofit organization that promotes excellence in public education by building community support and providing resources to our schools.
Results: Each year, we fund Mini-Grants for about $12,000. In 2010, our largest project is funding much of the technology for grades 4 through 8 to support adoption of a new Envision Math program. Funding in 2010 is $37,500. In the next two years, we hope to support adding technology for grades 1 thru 3 and 9 thru 12.
Target demographics: The Ojai Unified School District has an enrollment of nearly 3000 students, in five elementary schools, one junior high school, one high school and one special school.
Direct beneficiaries per year: Several hundred children will benefit from the Envision Math technology and the Mini-Grants.
