Mission: As a comprehensive resource organization, our mission is to enhance the quality of life for children with cancer and their families by providing financial assistance and compassionate support programs while advocating for increased research funds and raising public awareness.
Results: As of 3/27/14 - Helped approximately 355 local families with $1.9 million in financial assistance. - Awarded $26,700 in college scholarships to survivors. - Adopted 340 families during the holidays, delivering $190,000 in gifts from the community. - Raised $1,521,580 for childhood cancer research by shaving approximately 2,455 heads at St. Baldrick’s events in Reno and South Lake Tahoe. - Traveled to Washington, D.C. nine times to meet with Nevada legislators to educate them of the importance of increased research funding. - Distributed 19,000 gold ribbon pins to promote childhood cancer awareness in our community.
