Mission: Decent, safe housing and access to employment are taken for granted by most people. For the residents of Washington Heights/Inwood, housing and jobs present a daily struggle. For over thirty years, NMIC has provided services that form a critical link in the overall stability of a rapidly growing and changing low-income community. Our wide-range of essential direct services cuts through the red tape and cultural insensitivity to work with clients facing multiple barriers to financial and familial stability. In addition to meeting immediate needs, our community organizing, legal advocacy, and education and training programs give residents the voice and the tools to shape their futures.
