Causes: Environment, Land Resources Conservation
Mission: To promote and carry out charitable, educational, and scientific purposes, including (i) the acquisition and preservation of environmentally or ecologically significant land for open-space conservation purposes, (ii) to foster an understanding of and to preserve natural and scenic areas, farmlands, and historical, archaeological, and recreational resources important to the present and future residents of the grand traverse region of the state of michigan, and (iii) to operate for the benefit of, to perform functions of, to carry out the purposes of, and to be operated, supervised and controlled by the grand traverse regional land conservancy, a michigan nonprofit corporation, within the meaning of section 509(a)(3) of the internal revenue code of 1986, or the corresponding provisions of any future united states internal revenue law.
