Programs: Legislative advocacy initiates efforts to influence the introduction, enactment, or modification of legislation intended to increase organ, eye and tissue donation in new york state.

educational outreach,registry promotion, and collaboration:nyad implements statewide projects and programs to increase public awareness of the need for organ and tissue donation, facilitate partnerships with organizations that may play a role in organ and tissue donation through engagement and distribution of educational materials. In 2017, this included the development of public high school curriculum, lesson plans, and instructional resources about the importance and value of organ and tissue donation. Nyad partnered with the state education department, transplant recipient organizations and statewide school-based associations in the development and distribution of the educational curriculum. To effectively promote the new york state, donate life registry, nyad provides support for community-based events, engages organizations in donation-relevant observances, develops and disseminates promotional materials, and executes social media campaigns. Nyad works collaboratively with the donation community in several forums including donate life america and the unos region 9 collaborative.
