Mission: To preserve the legacy of Scouting and promote the movement to future generations.
Results: The National Scouting Museum is home to the largest collection of Norman Rockwell Scouting related original works, with 58 total works by the famed artist including the well known works The Scoutmaster and Can't Wait. In addition to Rockwell we have works by other famed artists such as J.C. Leyendecker, Howard Chandler Christy, Dean Cornwell, among others. We are home to nearly 600,000 Scouting related artifacts including items directly related to the life and career of Lord Robert Baden-Powell the founder of the Scouting movement.
Target demographics: The National Scouting Museum is committed to preserving the rich history of the Scouting movement by collecting, organizing, interpreting and displaying some of scouting's greatest treasures. The museum not only documents Scouting's unique influence on American culture, but also tells the story of a movement that has touched the lives of more than 110 million people. We are the only official museum of the National Council of the Boy Scouts of America
Direct beneficiaries per year: over 20,000 visitors.
Geographic areas served: We are located on the corner of West Walnut HIll Ln and Highpoint across the street for the National Office of the Boy Scouts of America. The Museum directly services the immediate Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex but has visitors from across the national and the world. We are the only official Museum of the Boy Scouts of America and only such museum in the world.
Programs: In addition to our exhibits, we also host several educational workshops related to the Scouting program. We incorporate Cub Scout rank advancement and the Boy Scout merit badge program into workshops for Scouts while we also develop and host other non-Scouting programs for non-Scouts and Scouts alike.
