Nonprofit Overview
Mission: The purpose of the Mountain Wisdom Inc. program is to teach leadership, responsibility, respect and confidence to the young men and women through the use of a 7-day 6-night intensive outdoor camping experience so that they learn to make choices that contribute to themselves, their families and their communities.
Results: Our young graduates have learned to be more respectful, responsible and confident according to their parents and guardians. As a result many of the young men return each year to continue their path into being responsible young men. This out reach to the young men in our communitiy has spawned a new program for young women in 2009.
Target demographics: The young men and women are 12 to 17 years old and come from a wide socio/economic background. We provide programs to young men and women who come from two parent families, single parent families and foster programs. The wide mix of socio/economic backgrounds of participates provides a rich learning environment.
