I came here looking for information about how to contact a board member to inform them about our experience. We were treated very badly by Kelley. I did not find any contact info, but I did find other stories about Kelley. It’s hard enough to find a good match for your family without being misled and mistreated. I would recommend you look elsewhere for your furry friend.
I feel sorry for the dogs in your rescue especially when they have such a rude, unprofessional person standing in their way of loving homes. (Kelley) I saw the reviews about her online and she really should be ashamed at how she treats people. Kelley made my family feel terrible for visiting a dog a few times. I met the dog alone, then brought my daughters and my husband went alone on his own the next day. Kelley shamed me for asking to walk the dog after the few visits we had. According to her no one has ever visited a dog a few times. But these were also all separate family visits so it makes no sense to be so rude to us. She refuses to adopt to us and claims my husband is not on board just because the first dog he was hesitant on. We then found the dog we loved and she told me that she will not adopt to me and is very short and rude in her responses. Most of the time though she just shuns you. Very unprofessional and rude!
I adopted several wonderful dogs from mountain Rottie rescue over the course of several years . I find the people in this rescue great to work with . They were very professional and genuinely cared about the dogs . All the vetting was done and the volunteer Kelly who interviewed me was very nice and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this group and am so grateful that there are caring people like them helping these dogs .
My Journey with Mountain Rottie Rescue started a few years ago, when I asked to foster a little girl name Etta, I already had 2 dogs so I said sure! 3 months later Etta chose me as her forever home! last year one of my pups passed away and my fiance was missing our little guy and was interested in getting another dog so we went to Mountain Rottie and got our guy Zeke a Rat terrier who has brought us so much joy to our lives!! They do a wonderful service to provide wonderful homes for all the dogs out there!!
Over the past 15 years, we have adopted three different dogs from MRR. We will never adopt from anywhere else. My son has adopted a dog from MRR. MY daughter adopted two dogs from MRR. Kelley took the time to get to know each of us and recommend dogs who would fit best in each of our situations. We love and appreciate the work that the volunteers at MRR do.
I got two beautiful dogs from Mountain Rottie Rescue. They came from terrible situations and were rehabilitated by the wonderful people in this rescue. They go above and beyond to support the people who adopt from them and are willing to answer questions day and night.
As others have said Kelly is a control freak. Loves to use water on dogs that bark, and she is not the foster parents just the owner. Gave away the dog that was a good fit to one of her other "friends". Don't bother with this Rescue go to Homeward Bound Rescue they listen and learn from people who can really provide the best homes for a pet.
This rescue doesn't have the dogs interest in mind. I have applied for a dog and didn't hear back about my application which is crazy as it's like 8 pages long, if I can get the time to fill it out I should be able to get a response. I have sent follow up emails and got a one liner back... dog is meeting a family. Which I find odd since the dog is still in rescue and I am still wondering why I wasn't contacted. I would recommend going elsewhere.
I wish there was a NO star rating. RUDE! I was denied because I wanted to do off leash with my dog after professional training. I was spoken to like a 2 year old by a person named Kelly during my interview. I was never denied officially but I never heard back and my messages went unanswered. Then I go on their facebook page and the shared a dog with no leash sitting in a field. How is that ok? Don't adopt from them. JUST DON'T!
I would not recommend them. They seem very rude and when I look into a dog I was told things I need to do that were against my vets advice. Getting fixed to early ect. Better off saving a dog somewhere else
I adopted an amazing shepherd mix from MRR more than a year ago. When I was ready to adopt my second, I found another awesome little girl through the same agency but different foster family. I love that MRR adoptable dogs are in homes with families to better understand the dog's personality and ease the transition into a home. I can't say enough good things about MRR and the foster families and transporters that volunteer for this agency. Every single one is committed to making our world a little kinder and a whole lot better....one dog, one family at a time.
MRR is an amazing organization that gives families the opportunity to truly make a difference. We adopted Gunner who needed a second chance. Val & Kelly made my girlfriend’s and my dream come true. They were flexible with their adoption process with us due to our schedule and gave us a ton of confidence in how the dog was transitioned. Gunner has been with us 8 weeks now and becoming more apart of our family everyday. We highly recommend MRR to anyone who wants to help!
Highly recommend MRR!! It took us a very long time after we lost our sweet Basset Hound Maggie to heal and be ready to open our hearts to a new dog. Once we were ready, we found Rylee through Mountain Rottie Rescue. After a long search, we went through the application and interview process. I was very impressed with the questions and thorough process that Kelley went through to make sure she was the right fit for us, as well as that we were the right fit for her. Not every dog fits every family, as we found out in our previous searches. We received plenty of information from her foster mom Erin, and had a thorough meet and greet and home visit. When all was said and done, Rylee joined us in her furever home!! We can’t thank Kelley, Erin, and all of the volunteers at MRR enough for all of their care and help!! We are in love!
We had a great experience with Mount Rottie Rescue. Our dog's foster mom was quick to answer all our questions and make sure we got a dog that was a great match for our family. The adoption process went quickly and smoothly. They rescue all breeds, not just rotties. We are so happy with our sweet dog!
I was looking for the perfect rescue and Mountain Rottie Rescue made it their priority to fit me with the right match. They really are top notch with selecting their adopters as well. From calling references to home visits they are doing it right!! Forever grateful!
I adopted a dog from Mountain Rottie Rescue a few years ago. I was informed of her unique needs several times, but I was willing to put in the work. She was a great addition to our family, and everyone who gets to know her, loves her. When we first met her, we went to her foster home. Andrea, her foster mom, helped teach us how to properly introduce her to our other dog, who we had adopted elsewhere and wasn’t properly socialized. (They adore each other, now.) Andrea did a home inspection shortly after that, driving about an hour in one direction. We have a fenced in yard and own our home. Andrea brought treats for both dogs, and a toy, leash, and harness for our new family member. They are a busy nonprofit, but they answered all of my questions/emails. If you meet Andrea and her family, you can tell just how much they believe in what they are doing. I can’t imagine life without Anita. Thank you, Andrea, and Mountain Rottie Rescue.
Our family first found Mountain Rottie in 2018 when we were looking to rescue a pup after realizing that our kids had never known a puppy. When they were born our dog was already older. We rescued Jasper with the help of a wonderful foster mom named Andrea. She expressed the rescue's requirements about a puppy going to a home where it wouldn't be left alone for long days, had the ability to run, and about younger kids in the home. I know
the extra prep I did prior to my home visit including setting up additional fencing while we worked on leash training. Andrea is very interested and concerned about the absolute best for her fosters. We noted how she took the adoption personally and were thrill that in 2020 we were able to return to MRR and Andrea to do another rescue. At this time not only did we have to make sure that the pup was a perfect fit for our family but that the new addition and our first rescue were a perfect fit as well. Andrea was very accommodating to let Jasper meet and greet the new pup on his own. She took the extra time to make sure the new Rescue would be a good addition. I made additional modifications to my yard prior to Andrea's visit again to be sure our new pup Karma Ohana would be safe here (she was much smaller than our first rescue). I love that the Fosters with MRR open their homes and hearts to all of these fosters knowing that if a pup isn't rescued immediately or at all they end up becoming semi-permanent fosters that never leave until the right home comes along. We love the way MRR and the fosters treat their rescue's as family and if I can ever talk my husband into a 3rd I will definitely return to MRR again.
Here is Jasper and his best friend Karma Ohana!
We adopted from MRR and had a wonderful experience. This rescue is very thorough and very serious about their lifelong commitment to the rescues. Home visits and reference checks are 100% done. We adopted a special needs dog and no truth was left untold. We had vet records, transportation records and shelter records provided to us at adoption. I was very pleased and impressed with the fact checking and the intensive review process to ensure we were the right family for Ellie both for now and long term. As someone that was looking to adopt a rescue, I would want and expect a rescue to decline me if I was not a fit for one of their animals. This ensures no emotional trauma for both the family and most importantly the animal. MRR is by far one of the most committed and expertly maintained VOLUNTEER RAN rescues I have ever encountered. I highly recommend utilizing them to find a future fur baby to add to your home.
We had tried since November 2020 to adopt a rescue dog. I had been interviewed by 2 rescues and was at the top of their adoptee list but their available dogs were far and few between. A number of other rescues never even responded to applications or inquiries. Mountain Rottie Rescue (MRR) responded to my inquiry on a dog named Luna but she was no longer available and they told me to let them know if I was interested in any others. I didn't realize when I found Camille on Petfinders that I was submitting an application through a rescue I had previously applied to. Camille's foster mom Andrea reached out and was very helpful, caring and concerned for the dogs she was fostering. She expressed her concern that she wasn't sure that Camille could be separated from Kirk, her brother and that they may be too bonded. We explained that we understood and spent the week discussing whether we could handle 2 puppies at once. We decided to go to PetSmart for the meet and greet to meet Camille and Kirk. Andrea's daughter was there and spent alot of time talking with us also about the two. Andrea had done some separation tests with the brother and sister pair and was willing to try to separate them. When we met Kirk and Camille though, we also felt in our hearts they needed to be together. We couldn't wait to try both on a home visit. Andrea brought them to our home and they took off running and playing. They were comfortable in no time. Thanks to MRR, foster dog mom Andrea and her daughter we now have two beautiful, loving and smart puppies whom we adore now named Ruby and Ranger. It is obvious this is a rescue whose volunteers are doing its due diligence and proper vetting for the safety and future of their fosters.
I adopted from Mountain Rottie Rescue (MRR) a few months ago. It was a great experience and we ended up with the perfect puppy for us. I know some people wonder why rescue groups have lengthy applications and particular requirements for dogs they adopt out, since the point is to find homes for pups in need, but as a huge supporter of rescue groups, I completely respect and understand why they do. MRR wants to find the right fit for the pups they rescue to ensure successful, life long adoptions. I truly believe Andrea and others of MRR are heroes to many, many dogs! These foster families open up their homes, hearts and many hours of their time to find appropriate homes for dogs in their care. Too many dogs find their way back to shelters because they were too energetic, had unforeseen medical issues, bark too much, etc etc. It’s sad to see stories like that, which is why i think MRR should be applauded for the time they take to read applications, call references, do vet reference checks and home visits. These foster families do this because they love dogs and animals. They don’t do it to deny someone a dog. They want to make sure a dog’s needs are met and prioritize that. I highly recommend MRR and respect the time they take to make sure puppies and dogs find the right home! Hans is our MRR pup and is a member of our family!!! Thank you MRR...we are forever grateful for our boy!!!
Mountain Rottie Rescue is the best nonprofit organization I got my three dogs from them and I got nothing but best to tell about organization they care and want best people for dogs I’m very happy and I will not go to any other organization to get a dog. Mountain Rottie Rescue is the best I jus got my new baby Bella Rose she is beautiful.
I formerly worked for a vet hospital which was used by MRR frequently; this rescue truly bends over backwards to make sure the pets they are adopting out are ready to have a happy healthy life with their forever homes. MRR is truly and always out for the best interest of the animal. The foster homes are experienced, enriching and know what environment the pet needs to be in for a successful placement. I will always have immense respect for this rescue because of the way their adoptees are treated, and for their unwavering advocacy for proper placement.
We had a really great experience with MRR. We filled out an application at the right time for the Powerpuff Girls and at our first meeting My husband fell in love with Bubbles (now Olive)
Andrea was wonderful to work with and very responsive- she answered all of our questions and since we adopted Olive during COVID they were so great about the whole process. We were first time dog parents and very open with that. Also our fence was being built in the backyard so we adopted Olive based on the assumption she would be on leash until our fence was built (she’s part hound). We greatly appreciate what Andrea and MRR have done for our family!
We adopted Leon in the summer of 2018 and Shelby last summer from MRR. They are a fantastic rescue to work with. They do an excellent job at matching the dogs with the best families for them. Both of the dogs' foster moms and Kelley were always available with any questions or help we needed.
They really do an outstanding job of matching the dogs with families. In the three years we have been involved with MRR I have never seen a dog returned, which is so commendable. My husband and I previously volunteered at a shelter for a few years and dogs were returned monthly, if not more. MRR always puts the needs of the dogs first, as they should.
I’ve adopted 2 dogs from mountain rottie rescue and have become a foster mom myself. In short. This rescue has changed my life. The people in the rescue are sweet and caring individuals and truly put their heart and soul into their foster dogs. We get dogs from everywhere and they come with so many horrifying past lives and we work with them until we find them the perfect home. This is not something we do as a full time job, this is all on top of our other responsibilities of life. We are all volunteers and I’m proud to say we all spend the time and work like this is our full time job. It is sad to me to see so many poor reviews on this rescue seeing as though we’ve saved so many dogs and have placed so many dogs in amazing homes. I myself have saved many dogs and cats and know that we do the best we possibly can. It is in the animals best interest to find them the home they were meant to have. The animals deserve amazing homes and an incredibly bright future with the horrible pasts they’ve come from. This rescue does amazing work through and through and should be recognized for all the hours and dedication that it takes to not only be a rescue but to change the lives of animals and people alike.
We adopted then Jazzy, now Adelaide in December 2020 from MRR when she was just 13 weeks old. We were interviewed by her foster mom, the rescue, and our vet reference checked along with our personal references. We did a meet and greet with her foster mom, Andrea, at her home and fell in love! Then, her foster mom brought her over to check our backyard and I videoed our home (due to covid) and we were set! Such a wonderful experience adopting from this rescue. They’re very thorough on who would be right for which dog. I am so very glad they chose us to be Adelaide’s family because she’s been and continues to be such a delight. Highly recommend this rescue!
i am an adopter and a foster mom for this rescue. to date i have fostered and successfully placed over 140 dogs (four stayed in my home forever )
there are many rescues locally but I feel strongly that this rescue does the very best they can to match the dogs personality with the proper home so that everyone has a happily ever after.
this rescue is also committed to making sure our dogs are healthy and properly vetted before leaving to their forever home. my adopters have told me many horror stories about other rescues who did not have this attention to detail or this level of honesty.
unfortunately there are people who, when you tell them a dog is not an appropriate fit for their home, just get mad and decide to post a negative review. while I understand it is upsetting to not be able to adopt the dog that you've decided you want, it also isn't fair to the dog to be placed in a home that isn't a good fit. The last thing we want is for a dog to be returned because it wasn't a good fit to begin with or to get loose and be lost. when we have these concerns we have to say no because we have to advocate for the dog!
as a foster I cannot imagine working with a rescue that didn't tell anyone no and let anyone adopt dogs; I can tell you I take this job very seriously and I would not sleep at night if I didn't feel my dog was going to the right home!
We are a loving and caring family with older children. 10 is our youngest. We have a beagle and have watched for almost two years for a dog that would be a great fit with our family. We have family that does rescue work and I know how important this is. We finally found clover. A very docile easy going beagle. We were interviewed and our vet and references were checked. All was great to do our meet and great. Then we were told that Kelley didn’t feel we would be a good fit because we have occasional small children visit the home. Clover was listed as being great with children. Kelley’s response was she wasn’t tested with small children. I even suggested doing a meet and great with one of the children and I got no response. We are devastated .I also do not believe a word of it. Clover would have been adored and would have lived a life most dogs in rescue dream of. We understand the importance of making sure a dog goes to an appropriate home. But this rescue is making it impossible. It’s because of rescues like this that good dogs are put down and good homes turn to breeders. As it looks like that is what we will have to do. I so wanted to give a dog an opportunity it otherwise would not have had and it’s very sad to me.
I applied for a sweet puppy named Mocha from Mountain Rottie Rescue. I was vetted and met puppy at the Foster mom s home. All was a go.
Kelly came w Foster mom and foster mom s daughter and Mocha for the home visit May 9, 2021.
Kelly, while trying to walk Mocha on a leash, (Mocha wasn't leash trained), around the yard asked, how the foster mom knew the person who recommended me....at this point that question was asked on my phone interview, asked by foster mom at meet and great, and now again, etc. Odd. Like only a certain circle were allowed to adopt.
Kelly then asked whether I d be enrolling Mocha into doggie daycare. Never was doggie daycare mentioned as a pre requisite. I advised her I had a trainer coming Sunday, and was signing puppy up for puppy obedience classes. When asked about dog socialization I reminded Kelly and foster mom I had family and friends with dogs, and I was willing to work with Mocha on a leash for her potty breaks.
Kelly knew before arriving that part of the fence was scheduled to be replaced.
Kelly didn't do the house inspection.
She came as far as the kitchen, said she had to get her cell phone in her car. I came outside and she says she's concerned that it s not a good fit...no doggie daycare lined up (not a pre requisite) never mentioned before, fence (she knew about) wasn't replaced as Tractor Supply sent the shipment and the carrier lost it at the warehouse, Tractor Supply was resending the materials ...mocha wasn't leash trained (not a reason to judge me) and a real disappointment after all the vetting and all the puppy preparations I had completed.
Kelly said she was concerned Mocha would be too much for me to handle in 1 or 2 years!??
I continued to reinforce I knew doggy socialization was important. Agismm? Is that because I honestly listed I was 64?
I have had dogs for over 30 years. My latest pup passed at 16 years if age, a long healthy life.
Very disappointing to say the least! I wouldn't try adopting with this organization, not only because of my experience, but it wasn't until late in the vetting I learned Mocha s mom was half pit. The puppy was listed on Mountain Rottie Rescue as a shepard mix.
After all the hoops I went thru and Kelly deciding I wasn't a good fit, for her reasons above, I began looking on Pet Finder. I saw the same puppy,Mocha, listed for adoption as a "hound mix." It broke my heart.
Deceitfully wrong and not what
I d expect from a not for profit organization, or any other organization that prides themselves on proper vetting, who s vetting them and their practices!?
This organization discriminates against potential adopters based solely on the answers to their questionnaire. If you live in an apartment, condo, or even a house on 20 acres of land but have no fenced-in yard, don’t waste your time with these condescending, unprofessional individuals. They are full of themselves and have serious God complexes. If you don’t meet “their” criteria you won’t get even the common courtesy of a returned email or phone call - they just ignore you. It doesn’t matter if you are an experienced dog owner with a stellar reputation. They would probably deny Cesar Millan himself! They claim to know what’s best for the dogs that they “rescue.” I would like to know exactly what it is that qualifies them as experts. So, it’s better to have a dog remain in the rescue for months on end than place them in a loving home? They never contacted even one of my references, and have the nerve to falsely state that there has been no interest in the 2 dogs that I expressed an interest in. It is not the dogs that are being overlooked, it is potential adopters. It is no wonder that so many of their dogs remain without homes to call their own.
My husband and I welcomed Bobby to our home on National Love Your Pet Day 2/20/2021 after meeting him on Valentines Day! He is the best valentine gift I've ever received. The application process moved along smoothly and thoroughly. We appreciate that Valerie and Bruce process one application at a time for each dog. We loved the meet and greet at the clinic at Pet Smart in Clifton Park. We knew Bobby was for us right away. Val, Bruce and Kelly are wonderful people to work with. I highly recommend MRR of NY, Inc. Thank you
Mountain Rottie Rescue is an exceptional organization made up of so many terrific people. Their goal is to save, rescue, transport, foster and rehome animals in desperate need. They work as a team and every one of them are fantastic. After losing our beloved Sumi we knew our blind dog, Willy, needed another companion. It was up to Willy to decide just who. MRR had Scottie (now Jake) a two year old terrier mix. We applied for him right away. The process was immediate! Kelley did the phone interview, Andrea came for the home visit and foster Valerie let us come and meet him right away. Willy chose Jake as his new little brother. We couldn't be happier with Mountain Rottie Rescue, their organized applicationn process, and wonderful people. I will be adopting from them again!! They have a genuine love for what they do. It requires a lot. Their love and passion is truly remarkable. We didn't just adopt a perfect dog....we made a few new friends too! Thank you MRR!!
My family adopted a dog from MRR a month ago. I randomly found their organization on Pet Finder and was drawn to a particular dog. I sent an email to MRR and completed an application. The process was very straight forward. The volunteer, Valerie, that I worked with was truly knowledgeable about the dog I wanted to adopt, she didn’t sugar coat any flaws. I really appreciated her honesty. I have two kids and a small dog, so I wanted to make sure the dog was the right fit for my family, and we were a good fit for her. When we were able to meet our dog, it was done in a relaxed setting and we were given plenty of time to get to know her. even though it was love at first sight. I would definitely adopt through MRR again.
Wonderful experiencing adopting Luca from MRR. This was our first puppy in 14 years and they were so helpful and knowledgeable. It’s amazing the amount of time, effort and love they provide to the pups that cross their path.
My husband and I just adopted our second dog. Mabel came to us through MRR. The entire process was seamless and thorough. The foster home made sure that she got along with our other dog, Mick before we adopted. We can’t thank them enough for bringing our girl home to us.
We couldn't be happier with our Christopher (formerly Ernie)! Valerie (foster mom) and Kelley have been so kind, responsive, and helpful. Thank you for helping us find our new family member!
My husband and I took our time in finding the perfect dog, and we couldn't be happier that we did! Working with Mountain Rottie Rescue far exceeded our expectations. They took the time to vet us appropriately, but the process was in no way drawn out. Our sweet Snickers (previously Max) came up from Kentucky, and Valerie kept me in the loop and allowed us to meet him as soon as possible. It's clear how much they care about dogs--and the families who adopt them. We've had Snicks for two years now and can't imagine our life without him!
We had an amazing experience with this rescue, and will likely be the only rescue we’ll adopt through again in the future! The process to get our Kirk was very easy, they were so great with our dog and SO helpful, even after we had adopted him! Val knew we were meant to find Kirk and truly made it all possible. They genuinely care about every single dog they rescue, and I’m so grateful for them and that I found them. Very happy with our experience with MRR!
I had a great experience working the the folks at Mountain Rottie Rescue, and they helped us find Norman, who we love and are thankful for every day.
My boy passed away a year ago. I wasn’t ready for another dog. Someone from MRR lead me to my Daisy. It was love at first sight! All the volunteers are fantastic and have such unconditional love for all the dogs. We are so happy!
Thank you to Mt. Rottie Rescue for our beautiful Stella Nova. They saved her from a kill shelter in Georgia and had her transported and Vetted to join our family. She is a perfect fit. Glad they take the time to meet the families and care so much about where their pups are getting placed. Highly recommend.
We adopted our Lilly from Mountain Rottie Rescue, and they helped us find our newest addition, Salem, the kitten. Bruce and Valerie are the greatest, they take care of each transport and foster like they are their own. The adoption process is thorough to ensure the doggos are going to a safe, loving home. I would recommend them to everyone and would adopt from them again. ❤️
After losing my much loved Beagle, Haillee, to cancer, our house was empty without her.
Along came Ruby at Mountain Rottie Rescue, the latest love of my life. She's the sweetest doggo, and I feel so fortunate that there are organizations out there who do the hard work of saving these dogs and then so thoroughly evaluate homes to insure a perfect fit for all.
MRR rescued Ruby and she rescued my ❤️.
Once I saw Lucy’s face I knew she had to join our pack. The interview process is very thorough and may be intimidating for some, but I assure you it’s to make sure the dog is put in the best home. The volunteers spend so much time doing interviews, home visits, transports and fostering, all while holding down their full time jobs. I am so thankful for their dedication bc without them, we would not have our Lucy!
We adopted both of our dogs from MRR. Bella (Boston Terrier/Chihuahua mix) came first in January 2019 with the help of Robyn Michela Wilson. Wilbur (Italian Greyhound/Terrier mix) joined our family in April 2020 with the help of Valerie Ellsworth. Both of these volunteers were so helpful finding us the right dog & going above & beyond to make arrangements for the adoptions. Each dog was well cared for and healthy and cleared all veterinary requirements before joining our family. Val & Robyn both were willing to come to our house to introduce Wilbur to Bella & the dogs bonded right away. Val even came from an hour or so away to make it happen, all during the pandemic! MRR has some of the most caring people working together to save & then place dogs (and some cats too) with loving fur-ever homes, volunteering their time (& own money often) & are there for you if you ever need any guidance concerning your pet. I consider both Robyn & Val my friends now. Attaching a picture of our Bella & Wilbur, who are BFF's & the best friends my husband & I could ever have!
Lynne & Mario Rizzo
We had never had a dog before and were very new to the adoption process. MRR made us feel very comfortable, answered all our questions and made us feel at ease. We now have had our dog for 7 months and he has brought us so much joy. We would definitely use them again!
Awesome Rescue! They were very thorough and checked all my references, vet check etc. They were also very quick checking (I made sure vet and references had my permission). I live in an apartment and made sure I applied for a dog that would be a good fit for me and the dog as well. These are all volunteers doing on their own time. The foster Mom was awesome too, she talked to me, answered all my questions and I think did an awesome job with my girl. My girl now named Abby is awesome & foster Mom/family made her feel loved and comfy, helped her put on weight. I got a sweet, social, well adjusted dog. Thanks so much to all the rescue volunteers for their hard work, heart and professionalism. I highly recommend this rescue if you’re looking for dog to join your family. She’s awesome, I couldn’t have asked for a better dog!!
I too am disappointed with this organization. First of all, there is no phone number to reach them at which was very sketchy. Also, no one gets back to emails or reaches out to you about your application. I stated within an email and application that I lived on the second floor of my parent's house. Which technically we have the whole house. After my 4th attempt to find out the status of my application I get an email with just someone saying we don't adopt to renters. They obviously did not read the application. But besides that some courtesy goes a long way they would email interest adopters maybe "thank you for your interest"...nothing. Very unprofessional. Definitely would not recommend people to adopt from this place.
I narrowed my search to a small dog that met all of my desired characteristics. I checked the information on Petfinders, their own website, and a Facebook page to determine that I met requirements to adopt from them. The application was 7 pages, but worthy since I have kept all of my dog companions through their natural lives of 14 years. I received a short email from someone in the organization simply rejecting me. I was not rejected for any reason than living in a place they say they adopt to. This is heartbreaking, and very unprofessional. Not a single “sorry,” we changed our rules. We will correct our policies now.
