I can't express enough how profoundly "Mother Fighting for Others" (MFFO) has transformed my life and the lives of countless other girls. As a continuing student at Mount Kenya University, I am a direct beneficiary of MFFO's unwavering support. This organization has been my backbone throughout my educational journey, and its impact on my life is immeasurable. MFFO is not just a charity; it's a lifeline for girls like me who dream of a brighter future. MFFO's dedication to providing unwavering support for the education and overall well-being of underprivileged girls is nothing short of remarkable. They don't just stand by us academically but also in our dreams and aspirations. Through their continuous support, they have given me and many others the means to achieve our aspirations, empowering us to become educated, self-confident individuals who can make a real difference in our communities. Mother Fighting for Others isn't just important to my life; it's a beacon of hope for girls everywhere, offering the backing and opportunities we need to reach for our dreams. My gratitude to this organization knows no bounds, and I am proud to be a part of its mission.
This is an amazing non profit and an amazing group of people showing love and generosity to a group of young women whose lives are being changed for the better. My wife and I have been priveledged to sponsor a young woman with MFFO for the last several years. We have seen how the funds, but more importantly the love and personal investments made by MFFO staff empower the girls to reach their amazing potential.
MFFO is a unique, efficient, and wonderful organization. MFFO is filled with dedicated and diligent volunteers, whose shared goal is to provide new opportunities for each and every girl. Each young lady's education is designed to meet her individual desires, needs and talents, laying the groundwork preparing them for their future. They are provided with uniforms, text books, health care, transportation, room & board.

I have been part of MFFO for almost 10 years. It is amazing to give girls an opportunity for an education who would not have that option. This organization has made the world smaller for my family by allowing us to love a child on another continent, support her and watch her grow. One day I hope to meet this sweet girl and all the others at St. Monica's. For now, it is a blessing to be a part of this organization and to know that I can support her and the rest financially and from my heart from afar, and there are others who will visit in my stead. The founder and all the board members have such a heart for these kids and ensure that the funds are being used for the highest and best purpose. I just joined the board this year and look forward to growing the support base!
Your Rating:5 stars 10/29/2022MFFO is run by a dedicated group of hard working professional women. I've watched this grass roots organization grow for over a decade now. Their mission is focused and the results they achieve are measurable by the success of the (now women) who they have helped to educate and empower over the years. I couldn't be more proud to be associated with these inspiring individuals.
I am so proud of the continued work that MFFO has done to keep the mission statement alive after all these years.
I've donated to this charity for years. Watching these girls grow up and then attend University, is incredible.
This organization, has for years, done such wonderful work for young women. The support young women's' educations globally and by doing so will empower them to be able to support themselves and their future children. They do so by raising funds to send the girls to school. Education is the core of their mission. In order for a girl to have a real chance at a job or attending a University they should go to a boarding school in Kenya and MFFO provides that opportunity with the money they raise.

Great people helping a great cause, this is definitely an organization that should continue for years to come
I heard of MFFO about 10 years ago from my dear friend Audrey Forshey. I have attended several fund raising events. At those events I love hearing the stories about the girls we are helping and how excited and motivated to learn they are and to hear them express their gratitude for the opportunities they are getting thanks to MFFO.
MFFO.org is a grassroots organization with the emphasis on educating girls from an girls orphanage in Nairobi Kenya. What is so special all donation go directly to the girls for
their education in order to become the best they can be! This organization has successes to show for their efforts. Everyone can go to the website and look at the pictures and video posted and they should be inspired to help one girl to have the chance of a good education. The dedication of this group of volunteers is second to none.

My name is Gisela John and I have supported “Hannah” for at least eight years. I had a chance this year to finally meet her. MFFO.org has used my donations over the years 100% for education which is their mission for these beautiful girls at St.Monica Orphanage in Kenya. I will continue to support their good work.
Mothers Fighting For Others provides orphaned girls with a loving and nurturing environment and a quality education, so they can learn, thrive and achieve their highest potential. The Gift of Education is an ongoing project to help pay for school fees and school requirements to orphans who do not have this opportunity. I have been a part of this amazing group of women over many years and have been blessed to have been able to see see the passion, love, and dedication these girls put in to work hard to achieve their goals.
Many of the girls have gone on to be successful and thriving young women who also want to make a difference. Our selfless and dedicated leader Audrey June Forshey has always instilled in us that you don’t have to begin with exact knowledge of WHAT the difference is that you intend to make. It’s enough simply to know that you want to make a difference.
I have been involved with this charity for about a decade. I have witnessed the good work this nonprofit does in africa to educate and simply love these children. These children have learned that love can cross cultures and miles. MFFO not only supports the children through education but also empowers them to take hold of their future and believe they too can make a difference.
I was thoroughly taken back from the letter I received from the child I sponsor. Thank you Audrey for introducing me to the organization.
By helping these wonderful girls acquire an education we can give them the chance to get beyond the traditional limitations of their culture. I love helping these girls go to school.
Mothers Fighting for Others is an incredible charitable organization with a wholly selfless mission. In the United States, we too often take education and wealth for granted. It is not until you see some of the things the women with Mothers Fighting for Others see, that you can truly understand the needs in other parts of the world. Mffo seeks to give girls in poverty the education they need to live the lives they fully deserve!
Mothers Fighting for others is an amazing organization focused on educating children. As human beings we need to learn to give back to mother earth. What better way to do that than to give the gift of education to the non privileged. I have seen the love and dedication of the organizers and the genuine care they have for the children. You know very well when the gift you give is given directly for the needs and education of the children, when you see these same children acknowledging their gifts and working extra harder to achieve success. We have heard so many of these success stories. We are proud of MFFO and very proud of the successes of the children. Thank you MFFO...YOU GUYS are the BEST...Thanks Rocky and Audrey and all the ladies that work very hard every year to do the best they can to give back..a little at a time.
My name is Anne and am one of this beneficiary of MFFO . They supported my education while i was at the orphanage till college . They showed me love , care and mentored me to be a great woman who is currently a kindergarten teacher. I am still part of the orphanage and i have learnt how to give back since they are my inspiration because of this selfless noble job they do in helping to educate a girl .

Thank you Anne for your support. Anne is one of the first orphans that MFFO supported from the beginning 12 years ago. Now Anne is a college graduate and kindergarten teacher. She regularly visits the orphanage to encourage and help the younger girls still living there. Anne is an amazing young woman and we are better for having her in our lives.
You'd be hard pressed to find a more committed group of selfless, hard working volunteers than MFFO. Founded by Rocky Turner and now under the tutelage of Audrey Forshey, the orphans in Kenya continue to be lifted up and blessed with the gift of education. Rest assured that 100% of your donation will be invested wisely and is greatly appreciated, no matter the size!
MFFO is an amazing organization doing fabulous things! The world is a better place because of the hardworking volunteers of MFFO.
I have watched the work MFFO has done over years. It is so gratifying to see the happy smiles of the girls being helped! A few volunteers are doing an ENORMOUS job of proving that few people with love in their hearts can make an impact in the world
This organization raises money to educate girls in an orphanage in Kenya. All money raised goes to the upkeep of the orphanage and the girls' education. The aim is to get as many girls as possible into higher education and professions such as medicine, law and teaching. After many years, the first girls are beginning to graduate and start their careers. It's very exciting.
I have witnessed the total conmitment of this group to protect, make better the lives of these girls and see that they get their education. Their raising funds are a mainstay of their lives. All monies raised go directly and completely to Mother’s Fighting for Others. They care so much for the girls and look they built a achool!
We have been fortunate enough to be a part of MFFO for the last several years. It is an outstanding and successful organization in which we know and trust that our donations are being utilized to give girls a chance for an education that they could not have otherwise.
I have had the opportunity to work with this organization and the amazing women behind it. on a very personal level. The true heartbeat of MFFO are the girls and there desires to make a difference in there community. Watching the girls grow and learn through the sponsorships and the bonds created is truly heartfelt. I continue to work with Audrey and the other ladies to empower these young girls to be all they can be.
I've been affiliated with MFFO for 6 years now, more so as I've sponsored a young woman as she goes to nursing school these past 4. Helping Jane and the girls keeps me grounded, reminds me to be grateful and allows me to mentor a new nurse in a country desperately needing educated, qualified nurses.
MFFO is an amazing organization. ALL donations go direct;y to assist young girls get an education. The MFFO staff volunteer their time and resources. This nonprofit is an outstanding charity!
I have been sponsoring the education of the sweetest young lady for the past several years. It is completely worth every penny to see her grow and learn. I know that what i send to this charity is well - used for the benefit of the children. If you want to find a good charity to donate to, this is the one.
An extended family of extraordinarily caring individuals, focused on providing an education and promising future for those who would not otherwise have one.
This charity is so awesome! I love seeing the girls that have graduated, who otherwise would not have an education!
MFFO is such an amazing organization that truly changes the lives of these beautiful girls in the most profound ways; providing them with a safe home environment, education, kindness and love. MFFO is led by an extraordinary group of exceptional ladies. It is amazing to see what MFFO makes possible for these young girls!!
Over many years, I've watched this group of women perform a miracle in darkest Africa. MFFO has my deepest respect and admiration. I am BEYOND joyful to see the wonderful new orphanage they have built across the world in Kenya Africa.
I have served on the board for about 10 years. I personally work with volunteers to raise funds to keep the girls in school. I travel to Kenya to personally see the girls and experience their education and growth. The girls are healthy and happy and I am proud to serve their needs.

I discovered the MFFO information on the internet through Social Networking. The first thing I saw was the handing out of underwear to children in refugee camps in Africa. I was moved that a small group of people were coming together to make a difference. I have volunteered for other organizations but this one struck me because it was small and I can directly see the difference that has been made in the girl's lives. The direct knowledge or contact is very powerful.

MFFO does a great job of providing opportunities for education to many who would not have access to them otherwise. They truly impact individuals who go on to help others. They add a human element to charitable giving.
I have the honor to be a supporter of this fine group! These ladies continue to do awesome work for young girls in Africa.
I have known Rocky Turner for almost 4 years now. I have been part of the MFFO West Coast Fundraising team for 2 years. Rocky's story and her love and dedication to the children at St. Monica's completely inspired me to reach out and help. She is one of the most amazing people I have ever met. I am proud to be a part of this organization . To know, with her guidance, we are making a difference in this world. I am honored to know Rocky and experience first hand, her selflessness and commitment to these girls.
I have known Rocky to be the hardest working, least selfish, most committed person in any non-profit. Alot of people will volunteer on a weekend but to spend thousands, travel to the other side of the country, Disrupt her own life, There is just not many folks like this. I sponsor a child and actually have fund raisers at my house. Non of that would have ever happened without her crystal clear passion.
I have know Rocky Turner for 5 years and sponsoring a child for 5 years.. I love Mothers Fighting for Others.

I was first introduced to Mothers Fighting for Others when I attended their First Annual West Coast Fundraiser 2013. I was in awe of the founder, Rocky Turner. Her drive and passion for what she does is nothing short of amazing! What Rocky has been able to accomplish 9,000 miles away and with about four trips a year is astounding. Because of Rocky and her team, the children of St. Monica's are thriving. The entire MFFO team is dedicated to providing the children with a home where they will feel safe, valued and loved. Mothers Fighting For Others is 100% volunteer based and is extremely financial responsible with the children's best interest at heart. MFFO is one of the best run non-profit. Great job MFFO!
I'm so proud to be part of MFFO. This group of amazing people work selflessly to help and improve the quality of life for orphans in Africa. Along with providing over 50 children a safe happy home they also strive to provide the best possible education for each of them. Truly inspiring, truly life changing, bless you both!
I learned about Rocky and MFFO from an article in a local magazine. I was so inspired by her story that I asked, "What can I do to help?" Rocky's letter on the MFFO site really says it all. If these girls were my girls, what would I want? Rocky has changed my life. And now she gives me the opportunity to help change the lives of others. http://www.mothersfightingforothers.com/mission/founder/
This organization has completely changed my life and my perspective of the world. It is also a great example of a grassroots organization that allows people to truly be involved with the very lives they are changing.
MFFO is an extraordinary program. Our family has know Rocky for many years and we know first hand the amazing work and time put into helping these young girls. The entire staff sacrifices so much of themselves. Our family always recieves pictures and Facebook notifications with updates on the girls. MFFO is reliable, efficient, excellent communicators, and caring. For those who are considering getting involved, you have picked the right non-profit. See for yourself. Thank you MFFO for allowing our family to be apart of yours.
I have known Rocky Turner for about six years now. I first came to know of her and her nonprofit when I was writing a book about orphaned children in India. I was very impressed by what she was doing in Kenya, and I donated some and became a bit involved. Finally, in 2012 I was able to travel to Kenya and volunteer at the Saint Monica's Children's Home with Rocky and other volunteers. Wow! What an amazing experience. Rocky's heart is huge and genuine for these girls, and she gives of herself tirelessly. It's a small, grassroots organization dedicated to helping THIS group of girls get an education, basic needs and the futures they deserve. Rocky does this entirely as an all-volunteer organization - she has never been paid a dime for her more-than-fulltime-work, nor does anyone else receive salary of any sort. In fact, expenses at all are a bare minimum, literally in the hundreds of dollars per YEAR. Virtually every penny goes straight to the girls' education and care. I cannot say enough good things about this organization, and about Rocky. Great cause.
I will never forget when I heard the cell phone recording of Rocky, founder of MFFO, during her very first visit to the orphanage Africa. She was talking to her husband, crying about how much she had fallen in love with one of the girls, Winnie and how she didn't want to leave the girls. For the next several years I was able to be a part of the initial founding and planning of MFFO. I have sponsored Winnie's little sister Joyce after falling in love with her just seeing one photo of her beautiful smile years ago. Thanks to MFFO she is safe, getting a great education and has a tremendous future. She is now in High School and tells me she either wants to be a pilot or a doctor. She works so hard and is getting top grades in school. I get so excited whenever I hear from her or see photos the volunteers post on Facebook She actually sent me a picture of herself when she was about 2 years old that I cherish. She had already lost both of her parents when it was taken. Rocky and all of the volunteers at MFFO are truly the most passionate and loving people I have ever met and it is their passion and determination that has saved so many special girls (and boys) and provided them with hope and a future. From one mother's love sprung a vision and it is still growing...changing the world one child at a time!
This is an Amazing organization, started by one Amazing Mom, Rocky Turner. It all started with a volunteer trip to an Orphanage in Africa, something I have always wanted to do, but have yet to make it work. After her experience there, it changed her life and way of thinking, she knew she could never forget the girls she met in the orphanage and she wanted to continue to help any way she could. But how can one Mom make a difference? She found a way to do exactly that. It started off small, with "Underwear for Africa" something she was told was greatly needed for the children there. She began asking friends and neighbors to raise money and or buy underwear because she was planning a trip back to the orphanage to deliver it herself. That trip lead to another and another. She could never forget those girls who left such an imprint on her heart. She now makes those trips every year, sometimes several times a year, having to leave her own 6 children behind. The children in the orphanage became a part of her family and she continued to fight for them. She partnered with other volunteers and MFFO began to grow. They now have a new home in Nairobi, St. Monica Children's Home, with 47 girls who will be cared for, given an Education and most importantly provided HOPE!
Recently being laid off from my job allowed me the opportunity to get more involved in volunteer work. This is something I had always wanted to do but just couldn't fit into my busy schedule. A friend turned me on to MFFO and it didn't take long to see what a worthy cause it was. I went on an amazing journey to Kenya to assist in anyway necessary. St. Monica's home for girls was well maintained thanks to the efforts of MFFO and the girls seemed very happy and content with their new environment. I was able to experience first hand what all the donations and volunteer workers had done to enrich these girl's lives. Life in Kenya is hard and very rugged compared to life in the U.S. Girls are not considered equal and are left behind to struggle. Education is the key to helping them flourish and becoming successful and productive adults. MFFO's main focus is on getting these girls the best education possible along with their everyday needs. The entire staff at MFFO are truly dedicated to giving these girls the best life possible. I'm honored to have been a tiny part of that and hope to be more involved going forward.
