Causes: Human Services, Neighborhood Centers
Mission: Over 2,000 families and individuals receive services and assistance through the Monroe Street Neighborhood Center each year. As a Family Resource Center, we have the ability to welcome various programs and activities into our building and house them under one roof for the convenience of our community participants. Our Service Coordinator serves as a service coordinator to offer program linkage to service participants involved in Monroe Street Neighborhood Center programs for the achievement of self sufficiency.
Programs: Monroe Street Neighborhood Center's programs include The Bridge which provides food, clothing and transportation, a computer lab available to the community, After School program, Summer Fun summer camp program, Open Gym program for ages 16 - 24 to keep them young men off the streets in the evenings, Dress Right for Men and Suitably Attired which provide professional clothing for those entering the job market, GED classes, Red Cross classes, The Learning Club tutoring program, The Finished Image which is a hair salon serving clients preparing to re-enter the workforce and New Hope Ministries which provides social service referrals and legal advocacy to those who are lower income, have a disability, are survivors of domestic violence or are in a family violence situation.
