Mission: The association is a non-profit member-driven organization whose mission is to safeguard and improve the health of rural missourians. The association accomplishes this mission by engaging in partnerships and providing leadership on rural issues through advocacy, communication, education and reseach.
Programs: The association provides assistance in the transportation of individuals seeking health care. Healthtran began as a pilot program, gathering data to improve health outcomes by reducing transportation barriers. It is not a government assistance program and is primarily directed to individuals unable to access transportation through other channels. There were 271 persons served in 2017.
